Nebraska -1 - Enough here for me to take a shot with the Huskers. Minnesota is on the 2nd of back to back conference roadies and plays this game with Wisconsin and Ohio State lurking on deck. Coming off a loss I expect more focus to be there that if coming off a win, but still with your two biggest games of the season staring you in the face it's tough to get up for a game against the likes of Nebraska. This game should be played at a snails pace. Minnesota likes to play slow, and Nebraska plays even slower. Minnesota should have a bit of an edge inside but Nebraska has the edge on the perimeter. With the exception of Welch the Gophers back court is very weak. If Brian-Diaz and company can keep things under control down low, Nebraska should take this game. My wager here is banking on the fact that they can.

Providence +6 - At +4.5 this was already a lean, now at +6 it's go time. To put it simply WVU shouldn't be laying 6 points on the road in conference to anyone right now. It's early February and this is a team still with only 1 road victory all season. Providence at 2-8 in Big East play is a team that's better than that record indicates in my opinion. Under Ed Cooley they've curbed the track meet offense and in favor of and as a result the offense has improved efficiency wise up to 54th in the country which out of over 340 teams is very respectable. While I do like those angles for Providence this play is mostly about what I don't like from WVU. On top of the poor road play is that fact they don't really have a match up for Providences best player and biggest play maker Vincent Council. I'd imagine Daryl "Truck" Bryant will get most of the duty against him, and I can't see that working out well for the Mounties. Notice his nickname is "truck"... not "Ferrari" his lateral movement is nothing special (to put it kindly) and i'd expect the lightning quick Council to be able to go around him like he's nailed to the ground. If Council goes for a 16 point, 10 assist type of game... which I could certainly see. That'll go a long way towards Providence hanging in this game and possibly even winning it outright. Friars here for me 

Minnesota has a big kid that was offered a scholarship by Nebraska ( the kid is from Nebraska) and he turned it down to take a scholarship from Minnesota.  So, it's going to be interesting as to who is more motivated. The local paper had a big article on this kid and how much he likes Minnesota.  Don't think he plays a ton but he may bring some extra motivation to his team to beat Nebraska.  Nebraska may still pull this out in some crapfest. So hard to tell with them.

ML Parlay: Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Cleveland State - Parlay comes in at about -102 odds. Rarely will I mess with any type of Parlay's or teasers but this is a good spot for one. With Michigan State and Pitt I was hoping for lines in the 5-6 range, but at 7.5 and 8.5 it's too chalky for my blood. Rather than lay that chalk, i'll parlay them ML and throw in a Cleveland State team for my money is in a class by themselves in the horizon league. Not too much breakdown really for this one... 3 teams who should win parlayed together at a good price.
