CFL week 1

knowing that winnipeg will be favored next week is very valuable to me.  If they elevate this week at home then the books can over adjust next week and get the Alouettes a much needed cover if they fail this week.

once again the CFL shows its video game type craziness and the last three minutes lasts forever.  Fortunately taking the boatload of points proves to be auspicious.  Don't know what sport breaks more hearts, the CFL or garbage time in the NBA.  Thankful for the win....good fortune to all in the coming CFL season!

Yeah, I know Freak,....it's scary Z being the qb.....like the public is betting the Argos....but the Peggers did win with a rookie qb yesterday.  My cajones are small, but they are brave sometimes.

Despite my best efforts to avoid the Alouettes, the history is too strong for me to not to play them and two teams with questionable quarterbacks got the W the last two days.

Week 1 away dogs have been 20-8, 9-19 UNDER,  non-divisional away dogs have been 9-5, 4-10 UNDER

If our away non-divisional dog won less than 10 games last year, this moves to 7-2 ATS (+6.56)  and 2-7 UNDER (-7.67)

Adding:

4)  Montreal +8

5)  Hamilton UNDER 54'

6)  Montreal +8 UNDER 48'

If our game 1 away dog is playing a team that won at least 12 games last year (Hamilton/Calgary), the away dog has been 6-2 ATS, and 4-4 O/U.......Tiger Cats

If our game 1 away dog is playing a team that won less than 9 games last year their record has been 9-1 ATS, 8-2 straight up and 2-8 O/U......Alouettes

The first four weeks of the season, underdogs rule in the Crazy Football League....and after that things level out.

Conference away dogs traditionally have performed at a higher level than non-conference away dogs.

Home conference dogs don't do that well, and non-conference home dogs have done very well.

In the first 9 weeks of the season, teams that have a bye next week have been 8-15 ATS as home non-conference  favorites.

Hamilton managed to screw it up.

a)  Allow blocked punt

b)  Fumble in short yardage

c) Hold in short yardage when you have picked up the first down

d)  Throw interception driving for go-ahead score

e)  Can't stop them on 2 and 7 when Calgary would have punted in the last 2 minutes

f)  Allow 40+ yard run to blow the cover

Hamilton will win the East, but you have to make plays and don't do boneheaded plays.
