Florida vs Texas A&M picks and predictions for October 10

Florida TE Kyle Pitts has been the favorite target of Heisman front-runner Kyle Trask. He has 12 catches for 227 yards and has caught six of Trask's 10 TDs through two games this season.

My favorite moment from Jimbo Fisher’s hiring at Texas A&M in 2018 was when he was handed a fake national championship trophy at his introductory press conference with the date to be filled in later.

Since I’m a Longhorn, might I kindly suggest taking that nameplate and engraving the date "NEVER." Also, college football betting fans also likely noticed that trophies like the one given to Fisher aren’t actually handed out at the FBS level, but let’s not get caught up in trivial details and keep kicking the Ags while they’re down!

Now that I’ve quickly emptied my vitriol for the Aggies, let’s see how objective I can be with Texas A&M returning home after getting steamrolled by Alabama 52-24. The SEC can be unforgiving, and the Ags will once again be reminded of that fact with Florida coming into College Station this weekend.

Here we go, guys. Let’s check out our best NCAA football picks and predictions for No. 3 Florida at No. 20 Texas A&M, with kickoff set for 12:00 ET on Saturday, October 10.

Against the spread (ATS) pick

The Gators look every bit like a national championship contender, already in mid-season form and whipping up on both Ole Miss and South Carolina in SEC play. The Kyle Trask to Kyle Pitts combination has been lethal and is just begging for a buddy comedy on ABC called “The Two Kyles.” Trask threw for another four touchdowns and 268 yards last week in a win against the Gamecocks, and Pitts pulled down two of those scores. The Florida defense also improved dramatically after their performance in Oxford, holding South Carolina to 329 total yards.

Texas A&M had high hopes this season behind quarterback Kellen Mond — and there’s still plenty of football left — but he can’t be faulted for the team’s showing in Tuscaloosa. The senior quarterback tossed three touchdown passes and relied on running back Ainias Smith as a receiver out of the backfield, as his six catches and 123 yards led the team.

Ultimately, this game comes down to defense — or lack thereof. This is an A&M squad that allowed 544 yards to the Crimson Tide. The public will probably be all over the Gators, but it’s hard to back A&M based on what we’ve seen.

PREDICTION: Florida -6.5 (-110)

Over/Under pick

The Gators have scored 89 points in two games, and while the Aggies will be their toughest challenge to date, A&M looked completely overmatched against Alabama.

The Gators will give up some points as well, and the Over is 8-1 in Florida’s last 9 games as a road favorite.

PREDICTION: Over 57.5 (-110)

Prop pick

I think there’s a good chance that Kyle Trask solidifies himself as the Heisman front-runner after this game. College Station isn’t an easy place to play, but the Gators quarterback has already dazzled on the road against Ole Miss.

Trask is poised to do that again this week, and it might lead him to showing the Aggies what a real trophy looks like.

PREDICTION: Florida team total Over 31.5 (+101)
