One of the great things college football betting fans appreciate is the pageantry and storylines that are unique to the sport. And this season, Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett is a perfect example.

The Dawgs signal-caller walked-on at Georgia, left to play at junior college, then returned to UGA on scholarship before earning the starting job. Also, his first name is both a type of cologne and cowboy hat, so Bennett is on the fast track to becoming a legend in Athens.

The Bulldogs whipped Auburn 27-6 in primetime last Saturday, and they’ll be at home again this week with the Tennessee Volunteers visiting Sanford Stadium.

So throw on a heavy splash of that Stetson because you’ve got a date with our best NCAA football picks and predictions for No. 12 Tennessee at No. 3 Georgia, with kickoff set for 3:30 ET on Saturday, October 10.

Against the spread (ATS) pick

The Volunteers are finally playing consistent football and showed legitimate improvement last week, hosting Missouri and winning handily 35-13. Quarterback Jarrett Guarantano has done a nice job of protecting the football this season, with two touchdowns and no picks while completing more than 61 percent of his passes. The Vols like the run the football, and both Ty Chandler and Eric Gray will get their chances to tote the rock.

Most of us saw Georgia dominate Auburn last week, and it was easy to come away impressed. Bennett has plenty of poise and a go-to receiver in Kearis Jackson, who hauled in nine passes for 147 yards receiving. Defensively, linebacker Monty Rice paced the Dawgs with more tackles (7) than the Tigers had points (6).

Quietly, the Vols have won eight straight games going back to last year. They’re playing very good football right now, and this is a perfect letdown spot for Georgia.

PREDICTION: Tennessee +13 (-110)

Over/Under pick

The weather should be a big factor in this game. Rainy and windy conditions will likely keep the scoring down, especially if the Volunteers are content to run the ball.

The Under is 6-0 in Tennessee’s last six games as a road underdog, and that’s the play here.

PREDICTION: Under 44.5 (-110)

Team total pick

The Tennessee defense was surprisingly stout last Saturday against Missouri, holding the Tigers to only 12 points. The Vols’ productive secondary should be able to slow down Bennett’s impressive start to the season, and I’m betting you can hang your hat on it.

PREDICTION: Georgia team total Under 27.5 (-120)
