The 3-1 Saskatchewan Roughriders are set to host the hobbled Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday evening at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.
The Riders are heavy 8.5-point favorites over the Tabbies, who are now led by former Saskatchewan quarterback Jake Dolegala following the leg injury to Bo Levi Mitchell versus Winnipeg a week ago.
My Tiger-Cats vs. Roughriders predictions expect a pretty one-sided affair where Hamilton will struggle to keep up with the defending champs in these CFL picks.
Who will win Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders: Saskatchewan -8.5 (-108)
Saskatchewan is 4-0 versus Hamilton in the Corey Mace era, but all four games have seen spreads of 3.5 points or less, so this is somewhat uncharted territory with the line currently sitting at -8.5.
Saskatchewan is 0-4 ATS when favored by more than 6.5 since 2024. The Riders win by grinding, not by burying people.
The difference on Sunday is that they’ve never been handed an opponent with no functional passing game.
The TiCats offence languished under the quarterback combination of Jake Dolegala and “offensive weapon” Tre Ford, going a combined 3-for-9 for 12 yards and an interception in almost a full half of football versus Winnipeg.
The Tiger-Cats have averaged 8.69 yards per attempt with a 68.3% completion rate with Mitchell as their starting QB since 2023, but Dolegala has career averages of just 7.5 YPA with a 62.5% completion rate — a full 1.7 yards and 7.4 percentage points below 2026 CFL league averages.
When Hamilton gets down early, it will lack the firepower to get back into the game and should fall victim to RB A.J. Ouellette and the dreaded “Tommy Time” of QB Tommy Stevens, closing the door late in games like Tim Tebow in his prime.
I wouldn’t be comfortable betting this line past -9.5, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Riders come away with a double-digit win.

Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders total prediction: Under 53.5 (-108)
Despite their strong 4-0 record ATS versus Hamilton under Corey Mace, Saskatchewan has seen just two of those wins crack the current 53.5-point game total.
The Hamilton offence has averaged 29.5 points per game in 2026, but that number is almost entirely inflated by the play of QB Bo Levi Mitchell, who averaged 35 points per game in his three complete starts. The Ford/Dolegala QB combo, meanwhile, was completely shut out versus a struggling Winnipeg defence.
This is a major downgrade for the Hamilton offence, and the Tiger-Cats should struggle to move the ball and score points against a Roughriders defence that has allowed the second-fewest total passing yards this season at just 1,164.
Saskatchewan would likely have to score 34 points or more to push this game into Over territory at the current 53.5 line, and the Riders average 33 points per game this season.
I would have set the line closer to 51.5, and I think the current implied team total for Hamilton at 22.5 is also a pretty enticing Under option.
Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders same-game parlay
Covering a spread near double digits while also holding the game total Under 53.5 leans into a negative correlation that I don’t love, but I still think the narrow road here is the most likely one.
If Hamilton stays under 22 points scored, which I think is likely, the Saskatchewan offence would have to go well over its scoring average this season versus a TiCats defence that has allowed a league-low 24.5 points per game.
Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders SGP
- Saskatchewan -8.5
- Under 53.5
Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders weather
The forecast in Regina calls for hot and muggy temperatures around 36 C, with a humidex near 44, and moderate-to-high south winds from 25-40 km/h. Winds at that speed and direction in Mosaic Stadium can stop high kickoffs and punts like they hit a wall, which could have a significant impact on field position Sunday.
