The Riders have already clinched first place in the West which leaves them little to play for here. QB Trevor Harris and centre Logan Ferland will dress as backups this week while stud RB A.J. Ouellette, RT Jermarcus Hardrick and their top three wide receivers have been given the night off. Their defense is missing three starters from the secondary along with DE Shane Ray and All-Star DT Micah Johnson. The Bombers will be far more motivated to win since they could still claim the second seed in the West or miss the playoffs entirely. The Bombers also enjoy one of the best home-field advantages in the sport and are trending in the right direction on both sides of the ball.

Since Week 15, the Lions’ offense has caught fire, riding a four-game winning streak with Nathan Rourke & Co. averaging 38.8 points per contest — three of those victories coming by double digits. Suddenly, a bid to host the West Semi-Final is very much in play, as BC will look to win out and secure the second seed in the West Division ahead of both Calgary and Winnipeg. Fresh off a bye, the Leos are essentially at full strength, with only defensive lineman Christian Covington appearing on the injury report, and he’s been sidelined since late August. BC will feast on an Edmonton Elks squad that they dominated in both Week 1 and Week 6, outscoring them a combined 63-28 in those matchups.

Edmonton has been playing far too well over the last two months to be catching 5.5 points here. The Elks have gone 6-3 SU and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games, with four victories as underdogs during that span. Their offense has been far more efficient since Cody Fajardo took over at QB, and they rarely turn the ball over. They should be able to move the ball against a vulnerable BC defense that ranks seventh in opponent pass efficiency and eighth in rushing yards allowed per game.
