Despite revamping their defense in the offseason, the Edmonton Elks continue to get lit up on that side of the ball, ranking second-last in the CFL in points per game allowed (30.1). They are also dead-last in opponent pass efficiency (122.5), sacks (five), and takeaways (nine).
The Elks allow opposing quarterbacks to complete a whopping 76.7% of their passes for a league-worst 307.5 yards per game. That's bad news with Nick Arbuckle and the Toronto Argonauts rolling into town.
With Chad Kelly still recovering from a leg injury suffered last year, Arbuckle has stepped up. He has thrown for more than 300 yards in each of his last three games despite poor pass blocking. Expect him to torch an Edmonton stop unit that can't generate a pass rush.
The Argos have dropped 30+ points in five of their last seven games while averaging 34.4 ppg over that span. Back them to eclipse their team total of 25.5 here.

Edmonton's defense has been bad but Toronto's hasn't been any better, surrendering a league-high 32.4 ppg.
The Argos are second-last in opponent pass efficiency (107.9) and give up a league-worst 114.8 rushing yards per game. They also struggle on special teams coverage, ranking last in opponent punt return (16.5) and kick return (29.0) average.
The Elks have been more efficient on offense since naming Cody Fajardo their starting QB and they should be able to move the ball here. They should also be more rested since they played last Friday while the Argos are playing on the road on five days of rest.
In what should be a shootout, taking the Over on Toronto's team total while backing the home faves to still get the win is tough to turn down at +475.
