Week 11 in the CFL wraps up on Saturday night with a clash between the Montreal Alouettes and BC Lions.

Early money has poured in on the Leos, moving their line from -4.5 to -6.5, and my Alouettes vs. Lions predictions are following that line movement. Here are my best free CFL picks for this showdown on August 16.

Alouettes vs Lions prediction

My Alouettes vs Lions pick: Lions -6.5 (-120 at BET99)

The Montreal Alouettes lost at home to the last-place Elks last week. They are now 2-4 straight up and 1-5 against the spread in their last six.

Meanwhile, the BC Lions went to Hamilton and beat the East-leading Ticats 41-38 in overtime last Thursday.

The Als have a strong front four, but Leos QB Nathan Rourke has the ability to make plays downfield even when running for his life. He evaded pressure to throw for 408 yards last week and has now racked up more than 330 passing yards in four of his last five contests.

Meanwhile, Leos running back James Butler has rushed for a league-high 704 yards. With Rourke and Butler spearheading the attack, BC leads the CFL in yards per game (420), yards per play (7.46), and second-down conversion rate (54.6%).

The Alouettes offense has struggled mightily with quarterback Davis Alexander on the IL. Third-string Caleb Evans takes over under center this week, and he doesn't have much help around him.

Montreal's top two wideouts are sidelined by injuries along with RB Sean Thomas-Erlington and center Justin Lawrence. The Als won't have the firepower to keep pace with the Leos explosive offense on the fast surface at BC Place.

Alouettes vs Lions same-game parlay (SGP)

Lions -6.5

Under 51.5

It's tough to handicap the total with BC getting in fast-paced shootouts and Montreal struggling to move the ball. That said, these teams combined for 41 points when they clashed in Week 5, and that was with the Leos rolling up 430 yards of net offense.

The Leos have been gashed on defense in their last three games, but those came against the Ticats and Riders, who have highly-efficient offenses and the two best QBs in the CFL.

They'll have an easier time containing Caleb Evans and a banged-up Als attack that was limited to 263 yards and 22 points last week against Edmonton's brutal defense.

With the O/U going 0-4-1 in Montreal's last five games, I'm leaning towards the Under in this SGP.
