Fight analysis
Cherneka Johnson brings energy, speed, and athleticism to every fight, but she will need to rely on her refining skill set to defend her titles.
Though Johnson possessed rare punching power, she fought wildly and often emptied her tank early in fights, but she’s been improving her game since a loss to Elle Scotney in 2023. Instead of bombing her opponents out, Johnson has adjusted her game and improved her cardio to be more of a volume puncher who can sit on her shots when necessary.
Amanda Galle is tough and battle-tested, but this is a significant step up in class for the undefeated 36-year-old. She’s a volume fighter and relies on her grit, mainly because she has lulls in her defense where she can get caught by a big shot.
Galle has demonstrated a solid chin and good recovery skills, but she’ll need to tighten up her defense so as not to give the champion an open avenue to land a big punch, and will have to ensure she starts exchanges and finishes them with a clinch if she hopes to make the most of this title opportunity.
This fight could get messy as both fighters are primarily volume-based, but the sharper-punching Johnson will land the shots that will register with the judges, and Galle’s defense won’t hold up when it needs to the most.
While this bout may start competitively, it will get increasingly one-sided as it continues. Johnson is the pick.

Johnson is the younger, faster, stronger, and overall better version of Galle and won’t need to worry about getting outworked. Once she starts landing her big punches, Galle won’t be able to return fire, and the points will pile up in favor of the champion.
