The Dallas Wings are looking to get back in the win column after back-to-back losses, while the Phoenix Mercury are looking to add on to their current three-game winning streak on May 25.

My analysis
The Wings started the season with an eight-point home win over the Chicago Sky, covering the spread by half a point. However, they then lost the rematch at home three days later and then lost their road opener to the Atlanta Dream by five points but covered the six-point spread.  

The Mercury lost their season opener to the Las Vegas Aces on the road, but still covered the 16.5-point spread. They then won consecutive games straight up as underdogs against the Dream and in the rematch with the Aces. Finally, they won their last game against the Washington Mystics as home favorites but failed to cover the 6.5-point spread. 

These two teams match up well, as the Mercury like to do most of their scoring from beyond the arc, but the Wings' strength on defense is guarding the deep ball. Dallas leads the league, holding opponents to only 26.7% shooting from three. On the other end, the Mercury’s weakness on defense is allowing threes, but the Wings only shoot 16.3 threes per game — last in the WNBA. 

With such even mismatches on each side, this game will likely come down to the size factor that Dallas has. Without Brittney Griner, the Mercury depend heavily on their shooting to outscore opponents. However, the great perimeter defense from the Wings and their size advantage down low should help them cover this spread and possibly pull off the road upset.
