The Las Vegas Aces were supposed to be one of the superteams in the WNBA this season. However, the start of the 2025 season has come up “snake eyes” for Sin City’s squad.

Las Vegas is just 4-4 and dragging a two-game skid into Friday’s home game with the Dallas Wings. Adding to those troubles is a head injury to star A’ja Wilson, which could keep her out of tonight’s lineup.

Luckily, Las Vegas has a few “Aces” up their sleeve, including point guard Chelsea Gray. She’s the focus of my best WNBA picks and Wings vs. Aces predictions on June 13.

Wings vs Aces predictions

My Wings vs Aces best bet: Chelsea Gray Over 13.5 points (-130 FanDuel)

With A'ja Wilson likely sitting out Friday night, offensive touches increase for other stars on the Las Vegas Aces.

Chelsea Gray will have the ball in her hands on plenty of possessions but will shoulder more of the scoring load against this dreadful Dallas Wings defense.

Dallas sits 11th in advanced defensive rating and could be without some top defenders, with DiJonai Carrington and Myisha Hines-Allen showing up on the injury report.

Gray was already seeing an uptick in offensive action the past two games before Wilson went out late in Wednesday’s loss to Los Angeles. She’s attempted 24 shots the past two contests – 15 of which came beyond the arc – and scoring 16 and 24 points in those outings.

With Wilson out, Jackie Young becomes the Aces’ No. 1 option and the focus of the Dallas defense. Young has done a good job with dribble penetration, drawing defenders and kicking out to open shooters. Gray has benefitted from that added space, shooting 14-for-25 (56%) from distance the past four games, including a 6-for-11 night versus L.A.

Player projections for Friday are very bullish on Gray’s production against Dallas, with scoring models sitting between 17 and 18 points. That’s plenty of headroom for the Over, with Gray’s scoring prop as low as 13.5 O/U.

Paige Bueckers predictions

Paige Bueckers best bet: Paige Bueckers SGP 5+ assists/5+ rebounds (+130 bet365)

Paige Bueckers showed no rust in her return to action on Wednesday. The No. 1 overall pick stuffed the stat sheet with a career high 35 points, along with six rebounds and four assists in the loss to Phoenix.

Bueckers may have to do it all again with Dallas down possible starters. With Hines-Allen likely out and Carrington nursing a sore shoulder, there is a notable gap on the glass for the Wings (also missing center Teaira McCowan, who left for EuroBasket).

Paige will also draw the ire of the Vegas defense, with the Aces trying to take the ball out of her hands. Bueckers is creating plenty of scoring potential, but her teammates just aren’t knocking down those looks. She was 13 for 19 from the floor on Wednesday but the rest of the roster finished 16 for 48 (33%).

The Aces weren’t the best defensive team to begin with (ranked ninth in defensive rating) and have a massive hole in that system with Wilson potentially sidelined. Las Vegas is worst in the WNBA in point in the paint allowed, with foes shooting better than 47% in the key, and also allows the second-highest assists count from opponents (22.3 apg).

Friday’s player models for Bueckers have her assists north of six dimes and her rebounding forecast sits between 4.9 and 5.8 boards, without adjusting for the Wings injury report. Paige has recorded at least five assist and five rebounds in three games and just missed by one stat in two other contests.

I’m combining her milestone markets of 5+ assists and 5+ rebounds at bet365 for a same game parlay paying +130 in Sin City tonight.

Wings vs Aces same-game parlay (SGP)

Chelsea Gray 15+ points

Paige Bueckers 5+ assists

Paige Bueckers 5+ rebounds

Gray’s points prop is bouncing between 13.5 and 14.5 Over/Under with projections as high as 18 points, expecting an uptick in offense with A’ja out.

Bueckers is generating a lot of open looks for her teammates, they just have to cash those in. Models show 5-plus dimes from the rookie point guard.

With Hines-Allen out and DiJonai playing with a bum shoulder, Bueckers will be called upon to crash the glass and her projections sit north of six boards tonight.
