Isabelle Harrison returned just in time to help the Tempo's depleted frontcourt and will be called upon to attack the Fever's interior tonight. Our WNBA picks see value in Harrison's scoring prop that isn't adjusting to her expanding offensive role.

Isabelle Harrison has made a splash since debuting for the Toronto Tempo.

The 6-foot-5 forward missed the start of the season due to injury and has slowly worked her way back into form over the past four games. Unfortunately, that form looked more WWE than WNBA last time out.

She’s logging more minutes and getting more touches with Toronto still down bodies in the frontcourt, heading into tonight’s trip to play the Indiana Fever as a 7.5-point road underdog.

Our Tempo vs. Fever predictions see Harrison’s importance rising, and my WNBA picks for June 16 take advantage of a stagnant scoring total not adjusting to her limited minutes in the last game.

Tempo vs Fever prediction

Tempo vs Fever best bet: Isabelle Harrison Over 9.5 points (-130)

The Toronto Tempo need Isabelle Harrison with Nyara Sabally out and Temi Fagbenle on limited minutes.

She played 28 minutes in the OT loss to Washington and was on her way to similar work when she got tossed against Atlanta, leaving with 17 points on 11 field goals in just 19 minutes.

She’s already third in usage for Toronto, yet her scoring prop vs. the Indiana Fever has jumped only one point from 8.5 to 9.5 O/U — not adjusting for the potential buckets left on the table last game.

Projections sit shy of 10 points, but I see at least 12.5 points for Harrison.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Toronto went from 13th in points in the paint (32.4) without Harrison to fifth in PITP (40.0) in her four games, with Harrison averaging six of her 11 points in the key. Indiana’s defense is 13th in opponent PITP (41.4).

Tempo vs Fever same-game parlay

The Fever are picking up steam and face a Toronto team that shows a significant shift in defensive play between home and away games.

The Tempo are rated fifth north of the border but slide to dead last in defensive rating on the road. That’s led to a 3-4 straight up mark as a visitor despite going 5-2 ATS in those away games.

Harrison is playing a big role in Toronto’s frontcourt attack, with injuries taking their toll. Her usage is surging, and her minutes and FGAs are climbing as well, with tonight’s scoring total too low compared to her growing offensive importance. I have her forecasted for 12+ points tonight.

Caitlin Clark is finally topping her scoring total, which naturally means it’s time to go Under. She’s going to see aggressive pressure on the perimeter from Mabrey & Co., forcing the ball out of her hands.

And with a busy week ahead, Indiana could take it easy with its star as she’s still battling through back pain.

  • Isabelle Harrison Over 9.5 points

Caitlin Clark pick: Under 20.5 points (-115)

Caitlin Clark is coming off two of her strongest efforts, putting up 25 and 32 points in wins over Connecticut and Chicago.

That has her scoring total creeping past 20 points for the first time in six games tonight. Clark has topped her points prop in three straight games after going 1-5 O/U in the previous six showings.

The Tempo have their soft spots on defense but do a great job protecting the perimeter, holding foes to 31% success from 3-point range. Toronto will also throw physical guards at Clark, like Marina Mabrey, who has a heated history defending the Fever’s superstar.

Clark could also find herself playing more true point guard — rather than off ball — with rookie reserve PG Raven Johnson questionable with an ankle injury. That would make Clark more of a facilitator than a shooter.

This growing spread also suggests a game script in which Indiana pulls away in the second half, allowing coach Stephanie White to rest Clark, who is still battling back pain.

The Fever have a busy week with three games in five days, with travel thanks to a home-and-home with Atlanta. Player projections for Clark teeter on this total, but the market is moving toward the Under as some books are already down to 19.5 O/U.
