These two teams will be meeting for the first time ever as the Chicago Sky travel to San Francisco to take on the WNBA's newest team, the Golden State Valkyries.

It has been a rough season for the Sky, as they are 4-10 and have lost six of their last eight games. The Valkyries bounced back from an early four-game losing streak and have won five of their last seven.

My Sky vs. Valkyries predictions run down the spread and total for this inter-conference battle as I give my best WNBA picks for June 27.

Sky vs Valkyries predictions

My Sky vs Valkyries best bet: Angel Reese Over 11.5 rebounds (-105 at DraftKings)

While the Chicago Sky have been struggling mightily this season, Angel Reese has been racking up stats, specifically rebounds, in recent games. She is averaging 11.9 rebounds per game on the season and in the month of June, she is averaging 13.0 rebounds per contest – minus one game where she only played 20 minutes.

This matchup will provide plenty of rebounding opportunities for her. The Golden State Valkyries are the best rebounding team in the WNBA, but that is because of how many missed shots their games have. They rank next to last in the league in field goal percentage.

They also rank dead last in three-point percentage despite shooting the second most attempts in the league. The Valkyries also rank third in the WNBA in opponent shooting percentage, despite allowing the sixth most shot attempts.

Despite being the best rebounding team in the league, the Valkyries still allow 34.1 rebounds per game to opponents – ranks eighth in the WNBA. Reese gets over a third of the team rebounds for the Sky, so she will be the one grabbing most of these misses on both ends of the court.

Reese tacked on 19 and 17 boards in each of her last two games. The Valkyries allowed 10 rebounds to Breanna Stewart and 12 rebounds to Aliyah Boston just in their most recent games. This should be another big rebounding game for Reese.

Sky vs Valkyries same-game parlay (SGP)

Angel Reese Over 11.5 rebounds

Under 157.5

Valkyries -8.5

To go with my best bet, I am going to hit the Under in the game total. The Sky give up a ton of points, but they typically do not score much on their own, ranking 12th in scoring. The Valkyries rank 11th in scoring and fifth in opponent points, so with all the misses, I expect a lower scoring game.

Finally, I am going to take the Valkyries to cover the spread. They are 10-4 against the spread this season and 8-2 in their last 10 games. They will be able to shut down the Sky offense and could easily win this game by double digits even if they struggle a little on the boards against Reese.
