The Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks are in the bottom half of the WNBA standings, but this Tinseltown clash should be a dandy.

Today’s contest features two of the worst 3-point shooting defenses in the WNBA, and my Sky vs. Sparks predictions expect guards Kelsey Plum and Ariel Atkins to post big shooting numbers from downtown.

Read on as I share my WNBA picks for Sunday, June 28.

Sky vs Sparks predictions

My Sky vs Sparks best bet: Kelsey Plum Over 2.5 made threes (+125 at FanDuel)

The Chicago Sky has the second-fewest wins in the WNBA, primarily due to their porous defense.

Chicago struggles to defend at all three levels, but its 3-point defense is especially weak. In their last five games, the Sky have allowed the 10th-most three-point attempts (28 per game) and a league-worst 42% shooting from deep.

That sets up a prime opportunity for Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum, whose 3-point shooting prop looks promising today against Chicago.

Plum is the Sparks' Usage leader and should play 36+ minutes. She’s also red-hot, making three or more triples in three of her last six games.

Plum knocks down 34% of her seven attempts from downtown, and we should see Plum sink at least three from beyond the arc this afternoon.

Sky vs Sparks same-game parlay (SGP)

Kelsey Plum Over 2.5 made threes

Kelsey Plum 5+ assists

Ariel Atkins 2+ made threes

I’m adding the Plum assist prop and game total to make a solid Sunday afternoon SGP paying $48 for a $10 stake.

Plum is the Sparks' most consistent playmaker. She flourishes in up-tempo matchups like the one she’s in today. She’s dished five or more assists in five of her previous seven and should drop at least five dimes as the Sky don’t defend well.

Ariel Atkins has landed 2+ triples in nine of 13 games. The Sparks' perimeter defense has allowed 10 made threes on 37% shooting (28.4 attempts) across the previous five, which is ideal for Atkins to land at least two made threes.
