Sky vs Mystics Predictions, Picks, Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

The Mystics are set to be severely undersized against Chicago, and our WNBA picks expect that to be the reason behind a cover for the road squad.

The 2024 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup continues with a matchup between the Chicago Sky and Washington Mystics in D.C. on June 6.

My Sky vs. Mystics predictions explain why I don't expect any magic trick from Washington in what will be a nice road cover for Chicago. Check it all out in the WNBA picks ahead.

Sky vs Mystics predictions

My best bet
Sky -4 (-108 at FanDuel)

My analysis
Bad meets worse tonight when the Washington Mystics look to pick up their first win of the season against a Chicago Sky team riddled with Caitlin Clark controversy.

The Mystics are 0-9 with an average margin of loss of 10.2 points, and they'll be without two key players in Shakira Austin and Brittney Sykes. That's bad news for Washington's hopes of winning. In the three games neither has been available, the Mystics have lost by nine, 32, and 17.

The main area where I love the Sky in this game is on the boards. The combination of Angel Reese, Elizabeth Williams, and Camilla Cardoso will be deadly against a team missing their two best rebounders. Aaliyah Edwards — the leading rebounder available for the Mystics — would rank fifth in boards on Chicago.

Washington ranks last in the WNBA in both defensive and total rebounds, which doesn't bode well against a Chicago team ranking first in offensive rebounds and third in overall boards. Even if the Sky are bricking in this game, they'll get plenty of second-chance opportunities to hand the Mystics loss No. 10.

Sky vs Mystics same-game parlay (SGP)

Sky -3.5

Marina Mabrey Over 5.5 rebounds

Angel Reese Over 10.5 points

With the Sky covering the spread on the road because of their rebounding, I'm looking to one of their better defensive rebounders to go Over their total, Marina Mabrey. She averages 5.3 defensive boards per game and has gotten at least six rebounds in each of the past three games.

Finally, I'll look for the person that will benefit most from second chance opportunities and that is Reese for the Sky. She's scored double digits in three of her past five games and will thrive in this game with plenty of putback opportunities.
