The last night of the Commissioner's Cup should bring out the best from the WNBA's stars, from A'ja Wilson to Olivia Miles.

The Commissioner’s Cup season ends tonight, with the Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty looking like they will meet in the Cup Final, though the Minnesota Lynx still have slim hopes.

These WNBA player props and WNBA picks focus on those three teams because, quite simply, they should play with the most focus on Wednesday, June 17.

Jonquel Jones Over 9.5 rebounds

While the thought of a blowout could limit Jonquel Jones’ minutes tonight against the Chicago Sky, there is no other reason to doubt the New York Liberty star will tally up the rebounds.

Before a blowout of the Mystics on Sunday, Jones had snagged double-digit boards in five of her last six games, notching just nine in the exception and averaging 11.8 rebounds per game in those six games. Clearly, Jones has her nose focused on the glass.

And that should be about all it takes against Chicago, the worst rebounding team in the WNBA. The Sky exacerbate that flaw by playing at the second-fastest pace in the league, quite literally giving opponents as many rebounding chances as possible, which lends value as long as this prop is set at plus-money tonight.

A'ja Wilson Over 25.5 points

No player is as good or as bad as her most recent game, and that has never been truer than looking at A’ja Wilson’s passive 18 points in a 30-point loss at Dallas on Monday.

Even the best player active in the WNBA right now is prone to being human; Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces clearly showed a mental letdown in that shocking loss.

And yet, they are a win away from advancing to the Commissioner’s Cup Final.

Those stakes should renew Wilson’s focus, which has otherwise not lacked in weeks. In the previous six games, Wilson had cleared this points prop in four. Falling short by less than a bucket against the best defense in the league on Saturday should hardly be seen as a knock against this bet.

And the Phoenix Mercury are much closer to the worst defense in the league than they are to the Lynx. Wilson should assure the Aces a chance at their second Cup title and likely end up in the high 20s tonight, though 30 points may be a reach.

Olivia Miles Over 18.5 points

Olivia Miles should drool at the thought of cutting through the Los Angeles Sparks’ backcourt. The Sparks rank No. 14 in the WNBA (out of 15) in defensive rating, tenths of a point ahead of the Fire. Then again, that defense has improved of late, up to No. 9 in the month of June.

That actually should only help the Minnesota Lynx rookie guard clear this points prop.

This game remaining vaguely competitive — Minnesota is favored by 9.5 points on the road — should keep Miles not only in the game but also actively forcing the offense long enough to reach 20 points for the third time in four games and fourth time in six.

For that matter, she has cleared this prop in five of her last six games.

When not absolutely routing opponents — a 33-point win against Portland on Monday — Miles has taken on a score-first mentality as the Lynx point guard. Until sportsbooks set her points prop no lower than 19.5, they have not properly reacted to her astounding emergence.

He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
