Caitlin Clark Under 21.5 points (-115 at bet365)
Caitlin Clark returned from injury like gangbusters, dropping 32 points and hanging the first loss of the year on the New York Liberty.
It was an oooh and ahhhh-level performance, as Clark drilled several deep 3-pointers, en route to a 7-for-14 game beyond the arc.
Choosing the Under here isn’t a knock on the second-year star, but on the fact the Connecticut Sun are one of the worst teams in the WNBA.
Six of their eight losses have been by double digits, but that doesn’t begin to explain the carnage of some of their losses, including a recent 104-67 drubbing at the hands of the Mystics, and a 100-52 loss to the Liberty.
Connecticut has a league-worst point differential. Clark will be prominent but won’t need to go supernova and may even wind up resting when the game gets out of hand.
Paige Bueckers Over 6.5 assists (-102 at FanDuel)
It’s been a rough year for the Dallas Wings, who are in the WNBA basement at 1-11.
Paige Bueckers has had a decent start to the year, as an injury forced her out of three games. She’s averaging 17.4 points on 46.8% shooting, to go along with 4.5 rebounds and tied with a league-best 6.1 assists per game.
Before the injury, Bueckers had 7+ assists in four of her first six starts, but she’s been held Under six dimes in each of her last two outings since returning.
The Golden State Valkyries present a great chance to rediscover those big setup games, as the Aces and Mercury are both pretty tough matchups for a rookie.
Jackie Young Under 20.5 points (-106 at FanDuel)
Reigning MVP A’ja Wilson will sit for a third straight game in concussion protocol as the Las Vegas Aces visit the league-best Minnesota Lynx.
Jackie Young has done some heavy lifting for the Aces since Wilson went down in the fourth quarter of their game against the LA Sparks.
She scored a season-best 34 against LA and followed that up with 28 points against Dallas. She was slowed though last time out, potting 15 on 4-for-14 shooting in a loss to the Mercury.
The Mercury game should provide an insight into what Minnesota can do. The Lynx rank a tick higher than Phoenix in points allowed (75.6) and rank inside the Top 3 in both field goal and 3-point shooting allowed.
It adds up to a rough night at the office for the Aces’ second-leading scorer on the season.
