Saturday’s WNBA slate features just two games, but there’s plenty of value to be had with my favorite player props.
The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever clash from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and injuries feature prominently in tonight’s prop selection.
The surging Los Angeles Sparks take on the Golden State Valkyries, and a win for either team will get them back to .500.
Read on to see why I’m in on scoring props for Sophie Cunningham and Tiffany Hayes and which Kamilla Cardoso combo prop for my WNBA picks for Saturday, August 9.
WNBA player prop bets for August 9
Cunningham Over 9.5 points (+100)
Cardoso Over 24.5 points & rebounds (-112)
Hayes Over 12.5 points (-120)
Today's best WNBA player props bets
Sophie Cunningham Over 9.5 points (+100 at bet365)
Sophie Cunningham is averaging 8.4 points per game this season, but she’s picked it up on offense lately. Over her last 12 games, Cunningham has averaged 12.3 points and scored in double figures nine times.
In that span, she’s averaged 14 points at home compared to just 11.5 on the road.
Caitlin Clark remains out, and the Indiana Fever suffered two devastating injuries on Thursday.
Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson will both miss the remainder of the season with their respective injuries, and Cunningham will be leaned on heavily to pick up the slack.
She’s scored 10 or more in four straight home games, and I expect her to extend that streak tonight.

Kamilla Cardoso Over 24.5 points & rebounds (-112 at FanDuel)
Angel Reese has been sidelined for four straight and six of her last seven games, opening the door for Kamilla Cardoso to take on an increased role as a scorer and rebounder for the Chicago Sky.
Over her last seven, Cardoso has averaged 14.3 points and 10.7 boards, good for 25 PR.
Cardoso has hit the Over on this line in four of her last seven, and she posted a 12/12 line in her last game against the Fever.
She logged just 23.1 minutes per game across her first 15 appearances of the season, but her playing time has increased to 30.2 minutes per game across her last 11.
She should continue to post big numbers as a scorer and rebounder while Reese is out.

- Where to watch: CBS, Paramount+
Tiffany Hayes Over 12.5 points (-120 at bet365)
Tiffany Hayes is one of the Golden State Valkyries’ go-to options on offense, and she’s averaging 12.1 points per game this season. Home-road splits are notable here, as she’s posted 13.9 at home compared to 9.9 on the road.
She’s scored at least 13 points in 12 of 20 games overall, including nine of 11 on the road. She put up 14 in her last game out, showing no signs of rust after a one-game layoff.
The Los Angeles Sparks offense has been electric, but its defense has been the worst in the WNBA. This one could turn into a shootout, and Hayes should benefit from this favorable home matchup.
