The red-hot Phoenix Mercury had their six-game win streak halted in a close loss to the Las Vegas Aces, but they'll aim to bounce back tonight on the road against a depleted Dallas Wings squad.

My Mercury vs. Wings predictions back Sami Whitcomb and Alyssa Thomas to keep Phoenix's offense rolling, while Paige Bueckers shoulders the scoring load for Dallas.

Find out more in my WNBA picks for Thursday, July 3, with tip-off set for 8:00 p.m. ET in Arlington.

Mercury vs Wings predictions

My Mercury vs Wings best bet: Sami Whitcomb Over 2.5 threes (+130 at bet365)

The Phoenix Mercury are 6-1 straight up across their last seven games, and they sport the best offense in the W during that span with a 112.8 offensive rating.

Over their last seven contests, the Mercury lead the WNBA in points per game scored at 90.7, and they are the only team to crack 90.

A big reason for Phoenix’s success in the scoring department has been Sami Whitcomb’s hot shooting from beyond the arc.

In her last five games played, Whitcomb leads the W in made 3-pointers at an eye-popping 4.4 per game.

The 36-year-old has has hit the Over in five straight, including three in a row on the road.

On the season, she’s knocked down three triples in four of six on the road, averaging 2.8 while shooting 40.5% from beyond the arc.

Whitcomb should continue to shine tonight against the Dallas Wings’ lackluster perimeter defense, which has allowed opponents to shoot 36.6% from beyond the arc, the second-highest mark in the W.

Paige Bueckers pick: Paige picks up the slack

My best bet
Paige Bueckers Over 19.5 points (-125 at bet365)

Paige Bueckers sat out Saturday with a right knee injury, but she’s off the injury report tonight.

The last time she missed time, she returned to score a career-high 35 points against... the Mercury.

Bueckers has averaged 21.6 points per game across her last seven and scored 20 or more five times in that span.

With Arike Ogunbowale out due to a thumb injury, Bueckers should see an uptick in shot attempts and scoring.

Ogunbowale is averaging 16.8 points on 15.2 shots this season, leaving Bueckers plenty of additional scoring opportunities.

Mercury vs Wings same-game parlay (SGP)

Sami Whitcomb Over 2.5 threes

Paige Bueckers Over 19.5 points

Alyssa Thomas Over 9.5 assists

Thomas’ 10.3 assists per game across her last seven leads the W in that span.

She’s handed out at least 10 assists in four of those seven games, reaching that mark in two of her last four on the road.
