Winners of four of their last five, the Indiana Fever are rounding into form at just the right time. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Lynx — losers of four of five — are sputtering into the postseason on fumes.
All of Minnesota’s four recent losses were by 8+ points, and three of them were by double digits. Each of Indiana’s latest four wins were by 10+, and three of them were by 18 or more.
Olivia Miles sat out Tuesday’s loss, and Minnesota finished with just 77 points on 38% shooting and 17 turnovers without its star floor general.
Minny’s first unit got off to a slow start and sat for most of the second half, and that could be the gameplan for Cheryl Reeve in the season finale. With the No. 1 seed clinched, there’s little motivation for the Lynx, but the Fever can secure the No. 5 seed with a victory.
COVERS INTEL: The impact of Miles’ absence was felt in Tuesday’s loss, as the Lynx finished the game with a 91.7 Offensive Rating, a 114.3 Defensive Rating, and a -22.6 Net Rating, all Bottom 3 marks. Across the season as a whole, the Lynx rank Top 4 in each of those categories.

On the road, she ranks second in assists per game (7.9) and second in Assist Percentage among players averaging 20+ minutes per game.
