A recent four-game slide has the Atlanta Dream on the playoff outs. They'll try to turn things around vs. a team that’s jumped them in the standings when they visit the Chicago Sky on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite being tied for the fewest home wins in the league, Chicago is a six-point home favorite in the WNBA odds.
Our Dream vs. Sky predictions and free WNBA picks are focused on a rookie absolutely cleaning glass for the home team.
Dream vs Sky predictions
My best bet
Angel Reese Over 12.5 rebounds (-135 at DraftKings)
My analysis
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has solidified her standing in the WNBA after recording a league-best 13th double-double of the season in just her 20th game as a pro. The seventh pick of the WNBA Draft scored 17 points and grabbed 14 boards last time out, though Chicago came up on the wrong end of an 84-71 score.
One of four players in the league currently averaging double figures in rebounding, Reese leads the W at 11.9 boards per contest, including nearly five offensive rebounds per game (4.9). That’s nearly 1.5 clear of her nearest competitor, teammate Kamille Cardoso. Ezi Magbegor of the Seattle Storm is the only other player to touch three offensive boards per contest.
After picking up just one 10+ rebound game in her first six, Reese has gone the next 14 straight games with at least 10 boards. Reese’s line for Wednesday is set at what feels like a steep 12.5 rebounds, until you look at the stats and see the Sky big has topped that total eight times in the last 11 contests.
She has been dominant against the Atlanta Dream in two previous matchups. Most recently, she set a new career high by pulling down 19 rebounds to go along with 12 points in an 85-77 win on July 2. Previously, Reese went for 13 points, 13 boards (and five steals!) in an 89-80 loss on June 8.
Atlanta is a middle-of-the-pack rebounding team, but they won’t be a match for Reese, who is already among the most dominant big players in the league.

Dream vs Sky same-game parlay (SGP)
The injury bug is hitting the Dream in a big way, with guards Jordin Canada (finger) and Rhyne Howard (ankle) joining Laeticia Amihere (international commitment) and Aerial Powers (calf) already on the sideline.
One guard who will be available is Allisha Gray, and she has a very hittable Over of 1.5 made 3s against the Sky. She’s gone Under that total in two straight games, but she’s hit the mark twice against Chicago. On July 2, Gray went 3-for-7 from distance en route to 19 points. In Chicago, she finished 2-for-4 from 3-point range, part of a 14-point performance.
Let’s wrap up this SGP with the Sky on the spread. Atlanta has dropped 11 of its last 14, and those losses haven’t been particularly close, covering the spread just once.
With the Dream’s injury woes, there’s not much more offense that can be delivered for a team that is already last in the WNBA in scoring at 75 points per game. Chicago has scored at least 83 points in each of its last four wins, and should be able to outscore the opposition, who are playing their fifth road game in the last six.
