The 2025 Commissioner’s Cup tips off on Sunday in the WNBA with four games total. Probably the best game of the group is this matchup between the Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

This game will be a rematch of last Sunday's contest, in which the Storm won at home, 102-82. The Aces bounced back with a win to enter this contest at 3-2, while the Storm have lost two straight since then and enter at 3-3.

My Aces vs. Storm predictions run down the spread and total for this Commissioner’s Cup battle as I give my best WNBA picks for June 1.

Aces vs Storm predictions

My Aces vs Storm best bet: Nneka Ogwumike Over 17.5 points (-108 FanDuel)

Last Sunday was the return game for longtime Seattle Storm star Jewell Loyd. It was spoiled by the current Storm shutting her down to 14 points on 4/15 shooting. Reigning MVP A’ja Wilson was not able to do much better with 15 points on 5/11 shooting and only five rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Storm shot 60% from the field and got incredible games from both Nneka Ogwumike and Erica Wheeler, who combined for 44 points on 18/26 shooting. Ogwumike is in her second season in Seattle but was in Los Angeles for the previous 12 seasons, so she has plenty of experience playing against the Aces.

A big reason for her success against the Las Vegas Aces is how bad they are defensively inside the three-point line. They rank third in the WNBA in three-pointers allowed, but they rank dead last in both two-point field goals allowed per game and opponent two-point field goal percentage. Ogwumike averages 12.3 two-pointers per game and shoots 59.5% on those.

As good as Wilson is down low for the Aces, she can’t do it by herself. The Aces run a very small lineup with seven of the nine players that average double-digit minutes being guards 6’0” or shorter. Ogwumike is just able to use her combination of size and skill to get whatever she wants down low against this team.

Ogwumike has scored at least 18 points in all three of the Storm’s wins this season. She will be the key to victory again for Seattle and will have plenty of opportunities to score inside the three-point line.

Aces vs Storm same-game parlay (SGP)

Nneka Ogwumike Over 17.5 points

Over 163

Storm +2.5

To go with my best bet, I am going to hit the Over in the game total. After a bad opening game, the Storm are averaging 84.4 points per game and 88.7 points per game at home. The Aces allow 81.8 points per game and 85.3 on the road.

Finally, I am going to take the Storm to cover the spread. They won the last game by 20 points last Sunday, and while I don’t expect a repeat of that performance, they still have a significant advantage on the offensive end in the paint.

The Storm went 4-1 last year in this competition, and I like them to start this year’s version with a similar record.
