Aces vs Lynx Predictions, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

The Lynx are on the verge of another Commissioner's Cup trophy and get a shorthanded Aces team in town missing A'ja Wilson. While a backdoor cover could occur, Minnesota will be up big at the half.

The Minnesota Lynx are a win away from hosting the Commissioner’s Cup title game in a week.

Only the Las Vegas Aces stand in their way. But these are not the Aces of lore, especially without A’Ja Wilson.

My Aces vs. Lynx predictions and WNBA picks have no faith in Las Vegas tonight, but a hefty spread focuses this bet to the first half on Tuesday, June 17.

Aces vs Lynx predictions

My Aces vs Lynx best bet: Lynx 1H -7.5 (-110 at DraftKings)

The Minnesota Lynx losing at Seattle last Wednesday added a touch of drama to the Western Conference in the Commissioner’s Cup, but they then blew out the Sparks by 23 points on Saturday. Minnesota would have to lose tonight while Seattle beats Los Angeles (likely, given the Storm are favored by 8.5 points) to fall short of the Commissioner’s Cup title game.

The Lynx are livid this season.

When fans gripe about the Liberty’s title last season thanks to Breanna Stewart’s clear travel in the final seconds, that is pointless and nothing but noise. But do not for a second think Minnesota isn't still stewing over that, particularly given a certain commissioner was wearing a New York City-patterned dress at that game. The Lynx are deadset on making a statement.

They likely will not get a rematch against the Liberty in the Commissioner’s Cup title game, but from a drama perspective, facing Caitlin Clark in Target Center is hard to beat, and that is the most likely scenario.

All of that is to say, trust the Lynx tonight. Trust Minnesota to come out strong and focused. Too much is at stake for a proud roster.

A 13.5-point spread could risk a backdoor cover. Even the diminished Las Vegas Aces still enjoy Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young, after all.

But a focused Lynx defense should shut them down in the first half and reach the break leading by double digits, easily clearing this -7.5 spread.

Aces vs Lynx same-game parlay (SGP)

Lynx 1H -7.5

Kayla McBride Over 15.5 points

Courtney Williams 12+ points

The risk betting any Lynx player props is that Napheesa Collier might take up all the available stats. She scored 32 points on 16 shots on Saturday, adding eight rebounds and six assists.

But some of that surge came because Kayla McBride had her first bad game of the season. Through six games, McBride had hit 52.3% of her 3-pointers while taking 10.8 per game. Then she went 0-for-7 on Saturday, scoring just four points.

Do not expect a repeat lackluster showing from McBride.

Similar thoughts tie to Courtney Williams. Sure, she scored 17 points on Saturday, but if she had played better last Wednesday, Minnesota would already have clinched the Western half of the Cup. Williams finished that game on the bench after scoring just three points and taking only one shot in nearly 20 minutes of action.

A 10-year veteran, the requisite pride and vengeance can be trusted to come from Williams.

He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
