Jose Aldo vs. Marlon Vera is the co-main event for UFC Fight Night betting on Saturday, December 19, at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This should be an intriguing fight between an up-and-coming young fighter in "Chito" Vera and an aging UFC legend looking to snap out of a losing streak in Aldo.

UFC odds have Aldo as a -152 favorite, while Vera comes back at +124.

We break down the UFC betting odds for this bantamweight battle and give our best picks and predictions for Aldo vs. Vera at the final UFC Fight Night event of 2020.

Aldo vs Vera Betting Preview

Jose Aldo is a former featherweight champion and one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in history, but he desperately needs a win after losing three fights in a row and five of his last seven. In his most recent bout, the 34-year-old was absolutely pummeled by Petr Yan for the vacant bantamweight title.

Aldo is a terrific striker who kicks with tremendous power and is able to keep fights standing up thanks to his excellent takedown defense. He also has a very underrated grappling game and competed in BJJ before making the move to MMA.

Marlon "Chito" Vera is No. 15 in the UFC bantamweight rankings after an upset win over Sean O'Malley at UFC 252 in August. That allowed him to bounce back from a close decision loss to rising young contender Song Yadong in May.

Chito is now 6-1 in his last seven UFC fights, with five of those wins coming by finish. Vera has a background in BJJ and is an excellent grappler, with eight of his 15 victories coming by submission. He's also a strong boxer with some pop in his hands.

Aldo vs Vera UFC Prediction and Betting Pick

PREDICTION: Aldo to win -152 - Aldo may be on the decline but his UFC losses have come against some of the best fighters in the world, including current title-holders Yan and Alexander Volkanovski, and former champs Max Holloway and Conor McGregor.

Aldo's only UFC loss to someone who didn't own a belt within a calendar year of fighting him came in his bantamweight debut against Marlon Moraes last year. Moraes is currently No. 3 in the bantamweight rankings and that bout went to a split decision, so Aldo may not be anywhere near as washed up as his recent record suggests.

Vera is coming off a fight where he derailed the Sean O'Malley hype train with a first-round TKO win as a +250 underdog. Not to take away anything from Vera's upset win, but it came after O'Malley was compromised by leg kicks, a tactic that a veteran and Muay Thai practitioner like Aldo should have little problem dealing with.

Aldo has a lot of mileage on his body, but at 34 he isn't much older than current UFC champs Volkanovski, Kamaru Usman and Deiveson Figueiredo. I still think he's a better all-around fighter than Vera and should have enough left in the tank to get back in the win column.
