Last Meeting ( Oct 24, 2015 ) Kansas 10, Oklahoma State 58

High-scoring Oklahoma State takes aim at its third straight victory Saturday when it visits Kansas in Big 12 action. The Cowboys have scored at least 24 points in every game and are averaging 40.3, good for 14th in the nation.

“I'm comfortable with where we are,” Cowboys coach Mike Gundy told reporters this week. “We've played pretty well at times, and if we didn't, we were able to identify why we didn't play well and find a solution.” One of Gundy's most dependable players has been quarterback Mason Rudolph, who has registered 13 touchdowns and two interceptions, including a 7-to-0 touchdown-to-interception ratio in the last two wins over Texas and Iowa State. On the other hand, Kansas has not received good quarterback play this season and enters this contest with 22 turnovers - tops among all FBS squads. “Any team would be frustrated with the turnovers, particularly when we believe most of those, if not all of them, are preventable,” coach David Beaty said. “When they’re preventable, you’ve got to do a good job of looking inside and making sure that you’re giving yourself the best chance to be successful on both sides of the ball.”

ABOUT OKLAHOMA STATE (4-2, 2-1 Big 12): The Cowboys trailed 31-14 against Iowa State before outscoring the Cyclones 24-0 the rest of the way, including a trio of Rudolph touchdown passes as part of the comeback. Justice Hill is looking to rebound after recording 20 touches for a total of 73 yards - none longer than 11 yards - against Iowa State, although he did rush for a score for the third straight game. Oklahoma State leads the nation with four blocked kicks this season and has recorded 17 blocks since the start of the 2013 campaign.

ABOUT KANSAS (1-5, 0-3): The Jayhawks' quarterback situation is up in the air at the moment, as Beaty would not commit to Ryan Willis during his weekly conference call with the media. Dorance Armstrong Jr. leads the defensive attack with six sacks, including at least one in each of the last four games, although the team is still allowing 41.6 points during its current five-game skid. One bright spot for Kansas at the moment is punter Cole Moos, the reigning Big 12 special teams player of the week, who drilled punts of 82 and 73 yards last weekend.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Oklahoma State has won 11 of the last 12 meetings and has not lost in Lawrence since 1994.

2. In the last 28 games where they have not committed a turnover, the Cowboys are 27-1.

3. After ranking ninth in the Big 12 in opponents' third-down and fourth-down conversion rates in 2015, Kansas leads the league in both categories this season.

PREDICTION: Oklahoma State 33, Kansas 23
