The Minnesota Lynx looked increasingly comfortable in this matchup during the 2024 WNBA Finals – and that’s carried over this year on the way to three victories, all by 6+ points. They covered the spread in both battles with New York this month and held Sabrina Ionescu to a combined 9-for-31 shooting line. If that trend continues, the Liberty are toast. Though New York has an impressive 13-4 mark at home this season, Minnesota’s 11-4 road record jumps off the screen and I prefer to count on the visitors’ balanced offense in this one as they try to sweep the season series.

Sabrina Ionescu is only averaging 2.3 made threes per game this year, and even her accuracy has fallen precipitously, as she’s shooting a career low 30.6% from beyond the arc in 2025. There’s no sign that this trend is changing, either. In eight games this August, Ionescu has only managed as many as three made three-pointers once. Over the course of those games, she’s shooting just 25.5% from deep, a worrying trend for a New York team that has seen itself fall to third in the WNBA standings.
