He has already gone deep twice down the left-field line at Sutter Health Park and is looking to dinger-sweep the series. He shouldn't be longer than 3x at this park, especially with near-100-degree temperatures and a plus-plus hitting matchup. Both clubs will be going with bullpen days, and there are some stat-stuffers on the Athletics' side. Both teams can stack runs today, and I think the A's can be competitive, but with the heat and matchup, I'll take the only trusted Toronto bat at three percentage points above my fair price.

Do the Jays deserve to be a bigger favorite today than yesterday, going from José Soriano to a bullpen day? This is still an offense that can't pull away from bad pitching, and now it has to get on a plane and head home to open a circled series against the Orioles. Braydon Fisher gets the start but will go one or two frames before likely giving the ball to Michael Lorenzen, Brendon Little, and/or Paul Sewald at some point. There is no good Toronto arm to piggyback and eat big innings. The Athletics are going with the same approach, but at least I'm getting 13 percentage points better than a 50% probability with them against the Jays. I just don't see this as a 63/37 game when both teams will be using a ton of arms and the Jays are in a tough schedule spot. This isn't much different than the Dylan Cease start price. I see this as 60/40 at best for Toronto.

I like the Guardians at this price, starting with Foster Griffin, who owns a 3.26 ERA across his full season and draws an Orioles lineup that has struggled against left-handed pitching. Griffin also has the starting-pitching edge over Shane Baz, who enters 5-15 with a 3.91 ERA. Cleveland has another advantage once the starters leave: since August 4, the Guardians rank fourth in defense and fifth in bullpen ERA. With three different run-prevention edges working in Cleveland's favor, I'll back the Guardians on the moneyline.

I want a left-handed bat in the Bronx today, and Cody Bellinger is answering the call at 17%, with a fair probability of 20%. He might not be in the best form since coming over, but he is at least hitting .290 and seeing the ball well. It's the matchup and setting that are pushing this into +EV territory. Yankee Stadium has 14-mph winds blowing out to left-center field, and Bellinger gets a matchup against Tomoyuki Sugano, who has given up 60 home runs over the last two seasons, the second-most in baseball behind Shoto Imanaga (64). Lefties have taken Sugano deep at a higher rate, with a home run coming every 15.7 plate appearances, which is a huge number. The Rockies bullpen is also very serviceable for a dinger in that Mickey Mouse Park.

The Atlanta Braves are trading as a 55% favorite on Polymarket in their matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays, and I think there's an edge to exploit at that number because I price the Braves closer to a 57% favorite. There are two things I particularly like about this matchup for Atlanta, and both should help neutralize Tampa Bay's speed and running game. First, Reynaldo López isn't afraid to challenge hitters with velocity at the top of the zone, which makes it more difficult for the Rays' slap hitters to put the ball on the ground and beat out plays at first base. Second, Sean Murphy has a quick transfer and an elite pop time, giving him the ability to slow down Tampa Bay's running game once the Rays get runners on base.

Moneyline
This is the most common and easiest wager for a bettor to make when it comes to MLB picks. Basically, to win an MLB moneyline pick, you just have to choose which team will win the game.
It's simple: if you bet the White Sox moneyline over the Red Sox and Chicago wins, you win your bet.
Run line
The run line is another name for a point spread that you may be more familiar with in NBA and NFL betting. A point spread varies in the NFL and NBA from as little as 0.5 points up to double-digit spreads. A baseball run line is almost always a 1.5-point spread.
The favorite will be -1.5 while the underdog will be +1.5. At the end of the game, if you take away 1.5 runs from the favorite or add 1.5 runs to the underdog and they end up winning the game, you win your MLB pick against the spread.
Totals (Over/Under)
Another common wager is to bet on the total in baseball, which is a bet on the total runs scored in the baseball game. You are simply choosing whether the final score will be Over or Under that total. Betting the Over/Under on a matchup is a great way to get started in MLB score predictions.
