Last Meeting ( Jul 22, 2019 ) Baltimore 3, Arizona 6

Adam Jones tormented his former team in the series opener and attempts to follow it up with another strong showing when the Arizona Diamondbacks host the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game set. Jones went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Arizona's 6-3 win on Monday to help send his team of the previous 11 seasons to defeat.

Jones, a five-time All-Star, wasn't pursued by the Orioles after last season and eventually signed with the Diamondbacks in March. "It's business," the 33-year-old Jones said in a television interview on Fox Sports Arizona after the game. "You've got to do it the right way. The most important thing is the win." Arizona is two games behind St. Louis for the National League's second wild-card spot while Baltimore dropped to 16-32 on the road after falling in the opener of a nine-game western road trip. Hanser Alberto (three hits) and Renato Nunez (two) both hit solo homers for the Orioles, who struck out 12 times in the opener.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Orioles RH Dylan Bundy (4-11, 5.28 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Merrill Kelly (7-9, 3.77)

Bundy is slated to be activated prior to Tuesday's game after being placed on the 10-day injured list with right knee tendinitis. The 26-year-old went on the IL after being torched for seven runs and eight hits in just one frame while losing to Tampa Bay on July 12. Bundy, who has lost five of his last six starts, beat Arizona on Sept. 25, 2016 despite giving up one run and three hits over five innings.

Kelly is 0-3 over his last six starts after winning his previous three outings. The 30-year-old pitched superbly in his last turn but received a no-decision despite holding Milwaukee to one run and three hits over seven frames. Kelly, who will be facing Baltimore for the first time, has pitched well at home with a 2.83 ERA and 3-3 record in nine starts.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
