The Los Angeles Dodgers own the best record in the majors and are by far the league's most dominant team at home entering a two-game interleague series against the visiting Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night. Both teams are 7-3 since the All-Star break, but the Dodgers will be looking to avenge a pair of losses at the Angels in the first leg of the Freeway Series.

The Dodgers improved to a staggering 40-12 at home by completing a three-game sweep of National League-worst Miami on Sunday with a 9-0 drubbing, hitting three homers to boost their total to an NL-high 173. "It's always good to have a game like that to get everything moving going into the off day and get everybody a chance to get a rest," said Max Muncy, who swatted his 26th homer Sunday and has taken Felix Pena, Tuesday's scheduled starter, deep three times in seven at-bats. Angels center fielder Mike Trout left the park in each of the past two games in Seattle to raise his American League-leading totals to 32 home runs and 79 RBIs. Albert Pujols also hit one of four homers for the Angels in Sunday's 9-3 victory, improving to 9-for-17 with nine RBIs during a five-game hitting streak.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels RH Felix Pena (7-3, 4.92 ERA) vs. Dodgers RH Kenta Maeda (7-6, 3.71)

Pena, who has pitched primarily out of the bullpen this season, was magnificent in his first appearance after the All-Star break while tossing seven hitless innings in relief to complete a combined no-hitter against Seattle. The 29-year-old Dominican earned the start five days later versus Houston and was lit up for eight runs on nine hits over 4 2/3 innings. Pena picked up the win in relief against the Dodgers on June 11 despite giving up a pair of runs and six hits over 3 2/3 innings.

Maeda is coming off a pair of abbreviated outings, pitching a scoreless inning of relief against Miami on Friday after his start at Philadelphia two days earlier lasted only two innings due to a lengthy rain delay. The 31-year-old from Japan is winless over his last nine appearances despite permitting more than three runs once in that span - a 4 1/3-inning appearance against the Angels on June 11 in which he allowed five runs. Trout has one hit in seven at-bats against Maeda.

WALK-OFFS

1. Dodgers CF A.J. Pollock is 12-for-28 with four homers and 12 RBIs in his last eight games.

2. Pujols needs one hit to move ahead of George Brett (3,154) and into sole possession of 16th place on baseball's all-time list.

3. Dodgers OF Cody Bellinger has 34 homers this year but has not gone deep and is 9-for-43 in 12 career games against the Angels.
