Arizona @ Pittsburgh preview

PNC Park

Last Meeting ( Jun 24, 2018 ) Arizona 3, Pittsburgh 0

One day after having their five-game winning streak halted, the Pittsburgh Pirates attempt to start a new one when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday for the opener of their four-game set. Pittsburgh captured the final three contests of its 5-3 road trip and the first two meetings with San Francisco before dropping the series finale 3-2 on Sunday.

The Pirates registered only five hits in the setback - three of which went for extra bases, including Josh Bell's two-run homer in the fourth inning that snapped a scoreless tie. The blast was the fourth of the season for Bell, who hit only 12 last year after launching a career-high 26 the previous campaign. The Diamondbacks lost two of three to the Chicago Cubs over the weekend after beginning their 10-game road trip by sweeping their three-game series in Atlanta. Jarrod Dyson produced two of Arizona's three hits in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Cubs, including a home run in the ninth inning, while Adam Jones recorded the other hit to give him at least one in seven of his last eight contests.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
