Cleveland sports a 25th-ranked wOBA and OPS against right-handed arms, while Detroit is ninth in both. Guardians starter Slade Cecconi also sports a 5.00 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 4.42 xFIP across 25 career starts while surrendering a healthy .271 batting average and .336 wOBA to opposing hitters. The Tigers are going to put runs on the board.

The Tigers are fifth in the majors in OPS (.754) with that number surging to .806 over the last 30 days. They should have success against Guardians starter Slade Cecconi who has an ERA of 3.64 but is due for severe regression. Cecconi is in the bottom 2% of the majors in barrel rate, exit velocity, and hard-hit rate, resulting in an xERA of 5.24. Detroit will give the ball to Reese Olson who is coming off the IL and hasn't pitched in the bigs since May 17 due to a finger injury. He could be rusty out of the gate which isn't a good sign when playing on the road.

Jose Ramirez has torched his AL Central foes over the past year and change, averaging 2.4 bases per game while clearing in 13 of 22 head-to-head meetings. That’s an impressive 59% hit rate. While Reese Olson is a quality pitcher, he hasn’t made a major league appearance since the middle of May. He also allowed eight hits, four runs, and a couple of long balls spanning 10 minor league innings in rehab starts. There could be some rust as he looks to get back into a rhythm.
