PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies LH Cliff Lee (9-5, 2.66 ERA) vs. Blue Jays LH Jo-Jo Reyes (3-7, 4.77). Lee has thrown a pair of two-hitters over his last three outings, including one against Boston on Tuesday. The 32-year old allowed one run over 42 innings en route to a 5-0 record and 0.21 ERA in five June starts. Lee is only 2-4 in four road starts this season and 2-4 in nine career outings against Toronto. He last faced the Blue Jays on July 21, 2009, when he posted a complete-game victory while with Cleveland. Reyes, who has dropped three of his last four starts, is coming off a loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday in which he yielded six runs in 3 2/3 innings. It marked the fifth time this season the 26-year old failed to complete four innings. Reyes is 1-3 in seven home starts this season and 0-3 with a 6.99 ERA in six career games, including two in relief, against Philadelphia.
ABOUT THE BLUE JAYS (40-44): Bautista's homer Saturday was his major league-high 25th of the year and extended Toronto's run of consecutive games with a blast to 10. Shortstop Yunel Escobar missed Saturday's game after leaving Friday's series opener with a left hand contusion. Outfielder Juan Rivera has six career hits against Lee, three of which have been home runs, while outfielder Rajai Davis is 4-for-8 against the southpaw.
ABOUT THE PHILLIES (53-31): Lee enters Sunday with the third-longest scoreless streak in franchise history. Grover Alexander tossed 41 scoreless innings in 1911 and reliever Larry Andersen had a run of 32 2/3 innings in 1984. Philadelphia tops the National League with a 20-7 record in afternoon games. Righthander Ryan Madson, who is on the disabled list with a bruised right hand, is expected to begin a rehab assignment next week.
FINAL PITCH: "It was a cool experience for me, something I’ll never forget. I was definitely anxious warming up and walking out on the field. It was definitely different. Once the game started, I felt like it was a normal game. But the stuff beforehand, it’s hard to anticipate that kind of stuff." - Former Toronto and current Philadelphia ace Roy Halladay, on the standing ovation he received when he took the mound for the first time Saturday.
