Arizona @ Cincinnati preview
Great American Ball Park
Last Meeting ( Aug 22, 2015 ) Arizona 11, Cincinnati 7
Paul Goldschmidt has seemingly snapped out of his August funk and the Arizona Diamondbacks are on the verge of obtaining a rare winning record. Goldschmidt and the visiting Diamondbacks look to complete a four-game sweep against the Cincinnati Reds and push their record over .500 for the first time in over four months when the teams meet Sunday.
After going 0-for-9 with four strikeouts during Arizona's two wins to begin the set, dropping his August average to .208, Goldschmidt went 4-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs in Saturday's 11-7 triumph. The win allowed the Diamondbacks to pull back to .500, a mark they have not topped since improving to 8-7 with a victory over Texas on April 22. A.J. Pollock, who had back-to-back four-hit games ahead of Goldschmidt to start the series, added three more hits Saturday and is batting .449 in his last 16 games. Losers of five straight to begin a 10-game homestand and eight in a row overall, the stumbling Reds turn to exciting rookie Raisel Iglesias in an effort to avoid the sweep.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks RH Chase Anderson (5-5, 4.51 ERA) vs. Reds RH Raisel Iglesias (3-4, 4.21)
Anderson tossed seven scoreless innings to defeat the Reds on Aug. 7 in his return from the disabled list but he has been rocked in two outings since. He gave up seven runs (five earned) on nine hits and a pair of walks in 4 2/3 innings at Pittsburgh on Tuesday. It marked the fourth straight road start in which the 27-year-old has surrendered at least four earned runs.
Iglesias continues to show promise as his first-year campaign wears on, spinning seven scoreless frames in a no-decision against Kansas City on Tuesday. He is 2-1 with a 2.10 ERA in four August starts while recording 22 strikeouts against only five walks. The Cuba native was a hard-luck loser opposite Anderson earlier this month after letting up a run in six frames.
WALK-OFFS
1. Arizona needs one road win to surpass its total from 2014 (31).
2. Reds 1B Joey Votto drew three more walks Saturday and leads the majors with 41 while hitting .398 since the All-Star break.
3. Diamondbacks starting pitchers are 6-for-11 at the plate in the last six games.
