Atlanta @ San Francisco preview
AT&T Park
Last Meeting ( May 30, 2015 ) Atlanta 8, San Francisco 0
The Atlanta Braves try to keep the momentum going from a rare victory over the Giants in San Francisco, but must get past Madison Bumgarner on Sunday in order to gain a split of the four-game series. Atlanta won for the fourth time in the last 15 meetings - and second in nine contests at AT&T Park - with an 8-0 victory Saturday and also snapped the Giants' six-game winning streak at home while handing San Francisco its third loss in 16 overall contests.
Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons is riding an eight-game hitting streak after going 2-for-4 with two RBIs on Saturday and is 11-for-29 during that span while third baseman Juan Uribe - 1-for-8 in three contests with Atlanta entering Saturday - broke out with three hits, including his first home run in a Braves uniform. The Giants fell one-half game behind Los Angeles in the National League West in what appears will be a season-long race for division supremacy. Bumgarner has won five of his last six starts and opposes Julio Teheran, who had a five-game unbeaten streak (2-0) snapped in his last outing when he yielded a career-high eight runs. "There really hasn't been a key, I've kind of had everything going," Bumgarner told reporters. "That's it, just making pitches and getting outs. Our offense has been scoring a lot of runs. I guess if there's a key, it would be to drive in more than we let in. We'll go with that one."

PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves RH Julio Teheran (4-2, 4.91 ERA) vs. Giants LH Madison Bumgarner (6-2, 3.00)
Teheran allowed 10 hits for the third time this season in the 8-0 loss at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday after allowing an earned run in each of his previous two starts. Left-handed batters have a .456 on-base percentage against the 24-year-old Colombian, who is 1-2 with a 7.42 ERA in six road starts this season. Teheran is 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA in four starts against San Francisco and has trouble with Buster Posey (7-for-11, two home runs, four RBIs) and Brandon Belt (5-for-9, home run).
Bumgarner permitted three runs - only the second time he's allowed as many in his last seven starts - in six innings of a 6-3 victory at Milwaukee on Tuesday. The 25-year-old North Carolina native, who is 9-1 in May over the past two seasons with two of the wins coming against Atlanta in 2014, is 5-1 with a 2.15 ERA in his last seven turns. Bumgarner tries for his fifth straight victory against the Braves and is 4-3 with a 3.00 ERA in eight career outings while faring well against Freddie Freeman and Cameron Maybin (combined 10-for-45, 14 strikeouts), but struggles with .242 career hitter Jonny Gomes (6-for-8, two home runs, four RBIs).
