Who will win Tottenham vs Newcastle: Tottenham to win
Kalshi probability: 42%
Spurs might have lost their Premier League opener, but given Brentford had home advantage and a team that was pretty much the same as last season, while Spurs had several changes, that’s forgivable.
This Newcastle team has a brand new manager and some additions to the starting lineup, though not as many as Spurs admittedly. What gives me confidence in Spurs is how they bounced back in midweek, beating Charlton 5-1.
Striker Dominic Solanke scoring will give him confidence, and he should start up top in this game, but the best news was new signing Savio coming from the bench and scoring.
Savio will go straight into the starting lineup and give Spurs a much-needed threat on the right side. His ability to dribble at Lewis Hall will create chances, and with Pedro Porro set for a recall after his World Cup exploits, that right flank now looks very dangerous.
If Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes can dictate the tempo, then Spurs can control this game and use their right flank to isolate Newcastle’s defense. Their defense looks far weaker without Dan Burn dealing with aerial crosses into the box. It's also worth noting that Newcastle conceded fewer goals than their xGA last weekend, with Liverpool unlucky not to have scored at least three.

As mentioned above, this Newcastle backline looks far weaker in the air without Burn, and they gave up two goals last weekend to a Liverpool team still finding its footing under its new manager.
Their back four isn’t one with consistent experience of working together, and with Spurs now looking more direct in attacking positions, you’d expect them to concede multiple goals, especially when a midfield duo of Lewis Miley and Sean Steur are fairly inexperienced at the Premier League level and won’t be able to dominate possession.
Despite that, you’d expect Newcastle to be confident of scoring. They’re still a work in progress, but they scored twice at the weekend, while Spurs gave up three goals and look disjointed defensively. Yoanne Wissa finally looks like the player they signed from Brentford and can help create chances, just as he did last weekend.
Harvey Barnes and Anthony Elanga can cause problems from the flanks, which could be key if Porro and Andy Robertson don’t get the starts in fullback roles for Spurs.
