Excel Spreadsheets - Systems, Tools, Utilities and More

This thread is to help my fellow cover’s members as they have helped me.  I have been bouncing around many threads - mostly Irage's and B2W's and I have been automating a bunch of systems - So I figured I would put them all in one place.

So here are the systems, tools or utilities that I have automated.  Any feedback is welcome and appreciated.  I would to thank the following folks for their help and sharing their systems and insights.

IRAGE DOG AND PONY SHOW SYSTEM

Irage’s system that I automated into spreadsheet.

Features:

·         Today’s matchups and lineups are updated from baseballpress.com when you click the “Update Lineup” button

·         Today’s lines are updated from Covers.com (https://scores.covers.com/baseball-scores-matchups.aspx) when you click on the “Refresh Lines” button

·         Lines are automatically saved in Line History tab every time you click the “Refresh Lines” button – IF the lines have been updated or a new game falls into the system.

This spreadsheet displays the current and past lines from Vegas Insider

Features:

·         Current lines can be viewed and refreshed when you click the “Refresh Lines” button

Thanks Oil - I missed that.  I will update the systems with the changes he made.

Not sure if he will be that thrilled - it appears (and I could be wrong) - but it looks like he gives the theory behind the systems away for free - but for most people it's a pain to look at all the filters on various websites - i.e ESPN, Statfox, etc - that he charges for subscription to the picks.

I assume they probably have a similar DB / software that gets the data and runs it through the filters to summarize the daily plays - so he can post them on his website.

Hope he does not come after me.....

As far as I know he's doing things manually and hopes to get things automated at some point.  He seems reasonable and very helpful in my dealings with him.  He's always looking to improve the systems and money management to be more profitable.

ADG - yeah I should be able to help you out.  I want to update the Super Systems spreadsheet.  And I have a another project that i'm continually working on - but after I update the Super Systems stuff - I should be able to automate yours.

They seem straightforward.  I'll PM you when I free up some time and I can start working on them.

MLB RUN ESTIMATOR

This spreadsheet is based off of Marko123 – MLB Prediction Formula thread.  See covers thread on details on the system and picks.  This is a work in progress in its early stages

Features:

·         Today’s matchups are updated from baseballpress.com when you click the “Update Lineup” button

·         Pitching and Team stats needed to complete the Run Estimation formula are updated when you click on the “Update Pitching Stats” and “Update team Stats” Button

·         NOTE: From time to time a new pitcher (say one called up from AAA) or if a pitcher goes to a different team – an error will occur when updating the pitcher stats.  You will need to update the Pitcher List with the proper links from baseball reference and re-run the query.

Irage - I really have not been tracking them - I am very bad at tracking.  But I have bet them with positive results.  No losses yet.  I will make the effort to track the systems for one week.

Bruin - you should be able to just click on the link and it will bring you to a google download page.  I have all the docs shared - so anyone with the link can view.

Maybe try using firefox instead of IE?  I testes the links from a PC that i'm not signed in to - and they work fine.

JONNYMEGA’s BOTTOM 3 SERIES CHASE

This spreadsheet automates JonnyMega’s Bottom 3 Chase.  See his thread here:

Basically, you take the Bottom 3 Teams on www.teamrankings.com overall power rankings and FADE them for the series.  Also added stats from L10 rankings and ESPN OPS data to see if a team you are either going to FADE or a team you are playing to beat the team you are fading are hot or cold.

Features:

·         All plays and data needed for the day are updated upon clicking the “Update” button

·         You can save the daily plays to the Play Tracker tab by clicking the “Save Plays” button

STREAK FINDER

This spreadsheet attempts to find hot and cold batting and pitching teams.

Essentially it tries to find matchups using the teams L10 and L7 stats where:

A good hitting team is facing a lousy pitching team.
A good pitching team is facing a lousy hitting team.
One team has a very leaky bullpen.
Other team has a very good bullpen
