Senators vs Maple Leafs best bet: Over 6.5 (+110)
The Toronto Maple Leafs host the Ottawa Senators tonight at Scotiabank Arena.
Both teams are coming off a three-day layoff due to the holiday break, which typically means we’ll be in for some sluggish hockey.
The Leafs are coming off an inspired win over Pittsburgh ahead of the break, where the offense finally broke through and netted six goals.
Meanwhile, the Sens are averaging 3.8 goals per game over their last five games, and should be able to put pressure on the Leafs in their own end and find ways to score.
The total has gone Over the number in two of the last three meetings between these two teams as well, so I’m anticipating another sloppy, high scoring affair.
Additionally, the Over is 42-28-2 combined between the Leafs and Sens this season. So high-scoring games are the norm.
Senators vs Maple Leafs same-game parlay
I’ll stick with the theme of an offensive outburst and take William Nylander to eclipse 2.5 shots. He’s bested that number in back-to-back games and looked far more confident in his last outing.
He’s also averaging 3.3 shots per game in his last 10 meetings against the Sens.
For the final leg, I’ll take Joseph Woll to go Over 25.5 saves. The Leafs spend a lot of time in their own zone and give up a lot of shot volume.
