The Edmonton Oilers will look to snap a two-game losing streak at Rogers Place with the Nashville Predators visiting tonight.

It’s a tough schedule spot for Nashville, and my top Predators vs. Oilers predictions and NHL picks expect Edmonton to fill the net in a convincing win.

Predators vs Oilers best bet: Oilers -1.5 (+150)

The Edmonton Oilers have dropped consecutive home games with just four total goals, and they’ve only scored nine times across four games out of the holiday break. Edmonton draws a favorable matchup tonight, though.

The Nashville Predators are playing the final leg of a seven-game road trip that extends to before the holiday break, and the lack of Edmonton scoring is the result of the second-lowest team shooting percentage (5.6%) despite generating the seventh-most expected goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5.

Considering Edmonton posted a 9.1 team shooting percentage at 5-on-5 through the first 38 games of the year, I’m expecting the Oil to turn more of their quality scoring chances into goals tonight.

Of course, Nashville has also allowed the seventh-most goals per game (3.32) this season and has the ninth-lowest team save percentage at 5-on-5.
