Best NHL parlay picks for Saturday

NHL parlay pick 1

Auston Matthews anytime goal

Brad Marchand 1+ points

Jake Guentzel 1+ points

After multiple early-exit flameouts over the past seven years, the Toronto Maple Leafs have put together perhaps their deepest roster for what they hope is a deep playoff push.

Regardless, it’s all contingent on Auston Matthews being the team’s best player.

Matthews is coming off a career-best 69 goals and 107 points in the regular season, and he’s had success against the Bruins in the past, with 12 goals and 21 points in 19 games. The Leafs superstar has also registered six goals and eight points across two playoff series against the Boston Bruins, despite both ending in agonizing Game 7 losses.

Matthews could be the difference maker — and perhaps the landing spot for this winning pick. He had a personal-best 18 powerplay goals on the year, which ranked fifth in the NHL.

Facing off against the Buds is proven playoff performer and absolute pest Brad Marchand. The 35-year-old had another solid year, with 29 goals and 67 points, and he should factor into the scoring at TD Garden tonight.

He registered a point in all four games against Toronto this season, with a goal and five points, helping the Bruins sweep the regular-season series. Marchand has also recorded double-digit points in six straight playoff seasons, including last year, with four goals and six assists in a 7-game series against the Panthers.

Don't get it twisted: Marchand will be involved tonight.

Meanwhile, Jake Guentzel didn’t skip a beat in his new digs, and he should be a go-to guy for the Carolina Hurricanes in their opening-round matchup against the New York Islanders

Since being acquired at the trade deadline from the Penguins, Guentzel has eight goals and 25 points in 17 games with the ‘Canes, hitting the 30-goal plateau for the third straight season.

He ended the regular season with points in eight straight games and failed to hit the scoresheet just three times with Carolina. Guentzel has historically fared well against the Isles, with points in nine of his last 12 against them, including nine goals over that span.
