The Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks will meet on Saturday, October 25 at Rogers Centre in Vancouver, marking the first encounter between these two Canadian teams this season.

My top Canadiens vs. Canucks predictions and NHL picks suggest that fans should be treated to another high-scoring affair involving the Habs following a 6-5 thriller in Edmonton on Thursday.

Canadiens vs Canucks Best bet: Ivan Demidov 1+ Assists (+310)

Montreal Canadiens rookie winger Ivan Demidov entered this season as the favorite to win the Calder Trophy and has already shown flashes of brilliance through nine games. He currently sits at a lone goal and five assists, with three of those helpers coming in the last four games.

The Vancouver Canucks have been mediocre in terms of defense thus far this season, ranking 14th in goals allowed and 27th in shots allowed. Conversely, the Canadiens rank sixth in the NHL in goals, and the Russian phenom has played a large role in their elevated offense this season.

It's simply impossible to ignore the insanely valuable odds on this prop, given Demidov's track record this season. Although teammate Nick Suzuki leads the league in assists (11) and would be a safer bet, there's much more value in the 19-year-old rookie.

Canadiens vs Canucks same-game parlay

Montreal won both meetings against Vancouver last season and have appeared to be the much stronger team out of the gate in 2025-26, and have a better away record (3-2-0) than the Canucks do at home (1-1-0).

The Canadiens have won six of their last eight games, with both losses coming by just a goal, while Vancouver has been mediocre thus far and are coming off of two straight losses.

With Sam Montembeault expected to tend the goal for the Habs tonight, expect a flurry of goals from both sides despite the Canucks' offensive struggles. The Over has hit in four of his five starts this season and in each of his last two.

Additionally, the Habs have had little problems generating offense both at home and on the road and I expect that to continue tonight.
