Germany has a strong team with several notable NHLers, highlighted by Leon Draisaitl, Tim Stutzle, Nico Sturm, and JJ Peterka. The Germans won 3-1 against Denmark in their tournament opener, with Stutzle scoring twice.
While Latvia is a bit stronger than Denmark in international play, they just got smoked 5-1 by the United States. Germany has won four of their last five games dating back to last year’s World Championships.

I’m focusing on Latvia’s inability to keep opponents out of their net. They’ve conceded a lot since the 2023 World Championships, and Germany has two serious weapons in Draisaitl and Stutzle. They both got on the scoresheet against Denmark.
I expect Latvia to get on the board as well, but most of the offense in this contest will come from the Germans, with their star duo continuing to thrive.
