Ravens vs Browns Predictions - Early Picks & Odds for Week 11

The Browns are awful, but their defense continues to offer enough upside for Unders to cash. Still, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are rightfully favored by 8.5 points. Baltimore wins big, even in a generally low-scoring game.

The Baltimore Ravens are picking up steam in the AFC North, bringing a three-game winning streak into this Week 11 road date with the rival Cleveland Browns.

Baltimore is laying a pile of points in what will be its third straight away game. Market perception of these teams is about as contrasting as you can get, especially after Cleveland’s loss to the New York Jets.

Here are my early leans, Ravens vs. Browns predictions, and NFL picks for Sunday, November 16.

Ravens vs Browns predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Ravens vs Browns spread pick: Baltimore -8.5

-115 at FanDuel

Hmm, that’s funny. Despite the Baltimore Ravens’ rotten start to the season, this opening spread of -8.5 is the same as the preseason look-ahead lines set back in the summer.

It’s like the first 10 weeks didn’t even happen, right?

That’s the Ravens' mentality right now. They’re pushing for the postseason, thumping their last three foes by an average margin of almost 15 points. Granted, the QB competition in those outings wasn’t that strong, and Baltimore takes on another popgun passing attack in Week 11.

The Cleveland Browns managed just 20 points against the Jets on Sunday, with rookie Dillion Gabriel picking up an average of only 3.9 yards per attempt. Even against a suspect Ravens defense, Cleveland doesn’t pose much of a threat and sits near the bottom of most offensive measurements.

Baltimore blasted the Browns 41-17 back in Week 2, which should prompt some support for the visitor. And considering this spread is hanging around the dead zone between 7.5 and 9.5, we could see bookies move up quickly if early action sides with the Ravens.

And it likely will.

Early Ravens vs Browns total pick: Under 41.5

-110 at FanDuel

Given the Browns' inability to move the ball beyond the sticks, this is one of the shortest totals on the board in Week 11. And with the total currently a half-point above the key number of 41, I’ll take the Under early in the week.

Cleveland’s offense is crap, but the defense continues to show up. The Browns allowed 27 points to the Jets in Week 10, but two of those touchdowns came on kick and punt returns.

Defensively, Cleveland stuffed the Jets to only 3.6 yards per play and 12 first downs, giving up 169 total yards. On the season, the Browns defense sits among the Top 10 in many advanced stats, including EPA allowed per play and Defensive DVOA at FTN.

Even in the 41-17 loss to the Ravens in Week 2, Cleveland contained Lamar Jackson & Co. to 4.6 yards per play and 14 first downs while holding Baltimore to 81 total yards of offense in the first half.

Sunday’s forecast could also help keep points at a premium. The extended look calls for rain throughout this AFC North battle with sustained winds at 17 mph and gusts topping 30 mph in the afternoon.
