Raiders vs Broncos Predictions - Early Picks & Odds for Thursday Night Football Week 10

Both defenses are at least solid, with the Broncos' stop unit grading out as borderline elite. Denver will maximize its stops and cover the spread against Vegas while the score stays Under the total.

NFL Week 10 action kicks off with the surging Denver Broncos playing host to the floundering Las Vegas Raiders.

Given how Vegas has played vs. quality teams this season, it’s hard to make a case for a competitive game from the visitors with my early Raiders vs. Broncos predictions.

These NFL picks also think a lower-scoring game is the most likely outcome on Thursday, November 6.

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early TNF spread pick: Broncos -9

-105 at bet365

While the Denver Broncos have been a bit up and down this season with how they’ve played against lower-level opponents, the same can’t be said about the Las Vegas Raiders, who’ve gotten stomped by higher-level teams.

Things started strongly for Las Vegas in a Week 1 win over the Patriots, but the season has shot downhill ever since.

When the Raiders lose, they tend to lose badly, as they already have four double-digit losses, including a 31-point thumping to the Chiefs and a 34-point embarrassment to the Colts. Both of those occurred on the road, as did a 17-point loss in Washington against a Commanders team that was quarterbacked by Marcus Mariota.

In terms of how these teams match up, it’s hard to imagine the Raiders offense having much success against a Broncos defense ranking at or near the top of the NFL in many key categories.

Las Vegas struggles to move the ball, coming in at 26th in yards per play. Denver’s defense is first in the league in yards per play allowed, so we shouldn’t expect a lot of successful drives from the Raiders.

The Broncos are on a nice roll at home, with eight consecutive outright wins, and had wins of 10 and 16 vs. the Raiders last season. I expect much of the same on Thursday night.

Early TNF total pick: Under 42

While the Broncos' defensive achievements have been highlighted throughout the season, the Raiders actually have some bright spots as well.

Over its last three games, Las Vegas is a surprising fifth in yards per play allowed. While it has plenty of flaws, it could limit big plays and quick scoring drives from a Broncos offense that’s shown some inconsistencies.

We can poke some holes in the Broncos offense, but the same can’t be said of their defense, which is allowing just 18.4 points per game thanks to holding five separate opponents to 17 points or fewer.

I also have to question if this total would be lower had it not been for a surge of 44 total points scored in the fourth quarter and overtime in the Raiders’ most recent game with the Jaguars. The teams entered the fourth with just 15 total points. Had that pace continued, it’s fair to assume this total could be a few points lighter.

For what it’s worth, and maybe it’s nothing, last season’s game in Denver between these teams had a closing total of just 36.
