It's Thanksgiving, which means plenty of food, family, and football on Thursday. The holiday slate kicks off with a rivalry game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
Green Bay beat Detroit in the season opener, but my Packers vs. Lions predictions are backing the Lions to feast on the Packers in Week 13.
Here is my best Packers vs. Lions same-game parlay for Thursday, November 27.
Our best Packers vs Lions SGP for Week 13
A lot has changed since the Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions at Lambeau in Week 1. Green Bay's stop unit has slightly regressed after looking dominant at the start of the year. Meanwhile, the Packers' offense has been sapped by injuries to WR Jayden Reed, TE Tucker Kraft, and center Elgton Jenkins.
This should be a close game, so home-field advantage could make the difference. With Jared Goff under center and their speed at the skill positions, the Lions tend to perform better indoors, especially at Ford Field. The Lions have gone 4-1 SU at home this year, while the Packers are 1-4 ATS on the road.
Establishing the run will be key for a Lions win. The Lions are 7-0 when they rush for more than 100 yards this year, while the Packers are 1-3-1 when they allow opponents to run for 100+ yards.
Pro Bowl running back Jahymr Gibbs has scored a touchdown in Detroit's last seven wins while rushing for at least 90 yards in five of those contests.
With Sam LaPorta sidelined for the rest of the year, there will be even more targets than usual for Amon-Ra St. Brown. Detroit's No. 1 WR reeled in nine of 13 targets for 149 yards last week.
Goff will have a tough time throwing deep with Green Bay's pass rush, so expect him to rely on St. Brown, who excels on short and mid-range routes.
