Commanders vs Chiefs Predictions - Early Picks & Odds for Monday Night Football Week 8

Washington has a bad case of the injury bug, and that's not a great to have going into a game with the surging Chiefs.

Next week’s Monday Night Football gives us a clash between the Washington Commanders and Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead. With Jayden Daniels injuring his hamstring on Sunday there are question marks over his status, which has understandably impacted the line.

My early Commanders vs Chiefs predictions and NFL picks expect Kansas City to cover the spread.

Tune in with kickoff at 8:15 pm on Monday, October 27, on ABC.

Commanders vs Chiefs predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early MNF spread pick: Chiefs -10

Heading into Monday Night Football the main storyline, at least at the time of writing, is around the health of Jayden Daniels.

Daniels suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s defeat to the Cowboys, and the Washington Commanders have confirmed he’ll be getting an MRI on Monday.

The assumption is we won’t see Daniels against the Kansas City Chiefs but that could change throughout the week.

The Commanders haven’t had the start they’d expected this year, sitting 3-4 behind the Cowboys and Eagles in the NFC East. Injuries are causing the team serious issues, with Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin both missing on Sunday. Neither are guaranteed to play Monday either.

The Chiefs are 4-3 against the spread this season but 2-0 when they’re a home favorite, which is how they’ll go into Monday’s game. With Rashee Rice back and Xavier Worthy healthy, this offense is starting to look dangerous.

K.C. has covered in four of its past five games, and with Washington suffering through injury problems, I have to back the home side to dominate on MNF.

Early MNF total pick: Under 48.5

We’re really starting to see the Chiefs offense click with 28 or more points in their previous four games, averaging 31.5 points scored per game.

With the Commanders fresh from giving up a staggering 44 points to the Cowboys on Sunday, there’s potentially to hit the Over here, but instead, it’s the Under worth taking.

In the two weeks before the Cowboys defeat, Washington only gave up 35 points. In terms of defensive DVOA this is a unit that sits firmly in the middle of the pack, while the Chiefs just about sneak into the Top 10.

We’ve spoken about Kansas City's offense starting to gel, but the same could be said of its defense. Last week it held the Lions’ offense to just 17 points, and this past Sunday the the Raiders registered three first downs. Three...
