Baker Mayfield will exploit his ex-team, who just allowed 34 points in Week 1 to the Jaguars.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are priced as an early 8.5-point home favorite on Sunday for their Week 2 clash with the Cleveland Browns. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium.

While Tampa lost a close one in Week 1, my early Browns vs. Buccaneers predictions and NFL picks for Sunday, Sept. 21, expect Baker Mayfield & Co. to roll Cleveland, who looked underwhelming in Week 1.

Early Browns vs Buccaneers spread pick: Buccaneers -8.5

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave the Cincinnati Bengals all they could handle in the season opener, falling 33-27. Now, they get a much softer matchup against a Cleveland Browns team that just surrendered 34 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tampa made too many mistakes in Week 1, but this is an excellent bounce-back spot. Cleveland was outgained 360-272 by the Jaguars, while its defense surrendered 234 yards through the air. Baker Mayfield and the Bucs' passing attack should have plenty of opportunities to exploit that weakness.

The Browns haven't shown enough, offensively or defensively, to inspire confidence. If Tampa cleans up its mistakes, Mayfield and company should be able to create separation and cover the 8.5-point spread.

Even in a game with four fumbles, Tampa's offense still kept it close against the Bengals, putting up 27 points. Now, they face a Browns defense that looked horrible on Sunday and allowed Trevor Lawrence to complete 18 of his 23 passes.

While I won't put much weight into it, this is also a revenge game for Mayfield, who never shies away from an opportunity to put it to an ex-team. Of course, there's some concern that Cleveland can't chip in enough points to help push this game Over, but Deshaun Watson wasn't awful in Week 1. He made some plays with his legs and still threw for 205 yards.

It's more of a Buccaneers angle, but I like the Over.
