The fourth Sunday in October marks an unofficial holiday on the NFL calendar — "National Tight Ends Day."
Coined by George Kittle and the 49ers in 2018, National Tight Ends Day has quickly become a social media phenomenon.
Tight ends are often listed at juicy prices in the anytime touchdown market, and it's no different in Week 8.
My NFL picks highlight three players at the position who are poised to visit the end zone on October 26.
National Tight Ends Day anytime TD picks
Prop bet #1: Dallas Goedert anytime TD
Opposing tight ends see plenty of action against the New York Giants, averaging 9.14 targets per game. Dallas Goedert could become the latest tight end to take advantage of Big Blue's big weakness.
Goedert already made life miserable for the New York stoppers in Week 6, finishing with a touchdown on nine catches (11 targets) and 110 yards. The receptions and yardage represent season-highs for the Eagles' tight end, and the touchdown gave him four games with a score in 2025.
Jalen Hurts has thrown for 11 touchdowns this year, and Goedert has hauled in a team-best five of them. Expect this connection to remain strong on National Tight Ends Day.
Prop bet #2: Mark Andrews anytime TD
Mark Andrews has stepped up his game since a slow start to the season. The Baltimore Ravens are looking to dig out of a 1-4 hole, and I see the returning Lamar Jackson looking Andrews' way early and often vs. the Chicago Bears.
Andrews has been targeted no fewer than six times in three of his last four appearances, hauling in 19 of 23 total passes for 167 yards and two scores. Although the Bears have given up only two touchdowns to tight ends in 2025, it's not as though they're shutting down the opposition.
Chicago has surrendered the second-most receptions to tight ends. Juwan Johnson just went for 79 yards on five catches vs. the Bears last week, while Zach Ertz had six grabs and 43 yards with a touchdown two weeks ago.
Prop bet #3: Tucker Kraft anytime TD
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense ranks in the Bottom 6 in targets per game, yards per game, and touchdowns per game allowed to the tight end position. Tucker Kraft has been an integral part of the Green Bay Packers' offense this season, and there's no reason for Jordan Love to look away from him in Week 8.
Kraft is riding a two-game touchdown-scoring streak heading into Sunday Night Football. He was targeted a season-high 10 times vs. the Arizona Cardinals last week, hauling in five passes for 58 yards.
The Cardinals also rank in the Bottom 6 in targets and yards per game allowed to tight ends, so the Packers are ready, willing, and able to dial up plays to exploit such a defense.
Kraft is currently the receiving yards leader on Green Bay's roster and is tied for the team lead in touchdowns, while also pacing the Packers in red-zone targets.
