The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles welcome the San Francisco 49ers to the Linc on Sunday.

My NFL picks are backing Philly's offense to get on track against a terrible San Fran defense in this playoff clash.

See how that factors into my 49ers vs. Eagles predictions for the NFC Wild Card Round on January 11.

Our best 49ers vs Eagles SGP for Wild Card Weekend

I'm expecting the Philadelphia Eagles to cover as faves because their inconsistent offense should get going. After all, stud right tackle Lane Johnson is set to return to the lineup after an 8-week absence, and the San Francisco 49ers have been terrible defensively.

The 49ers are 31st in the league in defensive success rate since Nick Bosa tore his ACL in Week 3. That stop unit has been even worse after losing All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner to a season-ending injury in October.

Injuries at linebacker have continued to pile up, with Nick Martin, Dee Winters, and Tatum Bethune now out as well. Their third-string LBs will struggle to cover tight end Dallas Goedert or make tackles in the second level against Saquon Barkley.

Saquon Barkley started off slow this season but picked up steam, averaging 100 rushing yards per game over the last four weeks. Goedert leads Philly in red-zone targets (15) and touchdowns (11) while San Fran has surrendered 10 TDs to opposing tight ends.
