College Football Parlay Picks for Week 12: Bower and the Bulldogs Light Up the Vols

With Brock Bowers back in the fold and Georgia's offense producing at a lights-out rate, our college football parlay picks in Week 12 are expecting the Bulldogs offense to torch the Tennessee Volunteers in the SEC's latest marquee showdown.

It’s hard to believe, but there are just two weeks in the regular season for most schools across the country. With nearly a full season behind us, it’s time to make some parlays out of trends we feel confident about and teams that we know well.

I’ve written a lot about the Syracuse Orange this year, and while their season has been up and down, I feel like I have a handle on the team they are now. The Iowa Hawkeyes may be the most infuriating football team in the country, but the college football odds still aren’t catching up to just how hard their games are to watch.

I’ll be combining those teams with a couple of the top College Football Playoff contenders to create my parlay picks this week. Read on to see all of my free college football picks for Week 12 below.

The Washington Huskies haven’t broken into the top four of the College Football Playoff rankings just yet, but if they can remain undefeated, they have an excellent chance to get back to the national semifinals for the first time since the 2016 season. The road to doing so continues on Saturday against the 8-2 Oregon State Beavers.

Oregon State comes into this game as a slight favorite over the undefeated Huskies. That’s mainly because the Beavers are playing at home, where they’re a perfect 5-0 on the year. However, none of those games came against a team nearly as polished as Washington, which has beaten Oregon, USC Trojans, and Utah over the past five weeks. I’m taking Michael Penix Jr. and the Huskies to pull out another tough win.

I often write about Syracuse Orange, but that doesn’t mean they have been easy for me to figure out this year. After starting out 4-0, Syracuse lost five straight games before rebounding with a win over Pittsburgh last week.

The key to Syracuse’s success — when they’ve had it — has been a talented defense that can get the job done against anyone, provided the offense can keep them off the field long enough to get a little rest. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are allowing 31.3 points per game on the year, suggesting the Orange will at least be able to move the ball a little and keep their defense fresh. Syracuse has hit the Under in five of its last seven games, and I’m picking the Under again in this one.

Finally, let’s take a look at the Iowa Hawkeyes, who have been one of my favorite targets all year long. I had expected them to eventually hit an Over at some point this year, but that led to more and more losses, as they’ve played to the Under now in five straight games — even when oddsmakers tried to almost force an Over with a total of 27.5 points last week.

This week, Iowa takes on the Illinois Fighting Illini, and books are setting the total at 31.5 points. Illinois doesn’t have a potent offense — averaging just 23.8 ppg — and their defense is largely irrelevant, as Iowa can’t score against anyone.

I’m not getting fooled by the Hawkeyes’ 22-point “outburst” last week — the Under is the play on any Iowa game until further notice.

Best college football SGP Week 12

Georgia -10.5

Georgia/Tennessee Over 59.5

Brock Bowers anytime touchdown

After finding success with the Georgia Bulldogs last week, I’m going back to the well with the No. 1 team in the country in search of another same-game parlay win this week. On Saturday, Georgia gets another tough test against the Tennessee Volunteers, who are 7-3 on the year.

The Volunteers are at home, but they’ve yet to show they can hang close with any of the top teams in the country. Tennessee has lost by double digits to Florida, Alabama, and Missouri. All of those games came on the road, but they also came against lesser teams than the Bulldogs. I’m taking Georgia to cover the 10.5-point spread.

In addition, I’m going to take the Over at 59.5 points. Georgia has played to totals of above 60 points in three of its last five games, and the other two were reasonably close, finishing in the 50s. Tennessee allowed 36 points to Missouri and 34 to Alabama, showing that elite teams can score on what has been a solid defense overall. The Volunteers should also contribute to the total a bit — they are averaging 32 points per game — enough to get this game to the Over.

Finally, I’m adding in a touchdown prop for Georgia tight end Brock Bowers. While Bowers only has five touchdowns all season, he has scored in four of his last five games, including in tougher matchups against Kentucky and Mississippi.

The Bulldogs should keep leaning on their most reliable receiving option down the stretch, especially against a Volunteers defense that has given up an average of 32.3 ppg against its last three SEC opponents. Let’s take Bowers to score anytime during the game to round out our SGP.
