South Carolina and Missouri meet Saturday night in the Show-Me State in a conference battle.

The Tigers will be looking to build an early-season playoff résumé, while the Gamecocks will be hoping to rebound from a humiliating loss to Vanderbilt.

My South Carolina vs. Missouri predictions break it all down as I bring you my college football picks for Saturday, September 20.

South Carolina vs Missouri prediction

South Carolina vs Missouri best bet: Kevin Coleman longest reception Over 25.5 yards (-115)

This South Carolina secondary struggling is probably the thing I’m most convinced about in a game full of uncertainties.

Enter Kevin Coleman. The senior has bounced around a few schools during his time in college, but he has started his final year at Missouri very strongly.

I’ll back him to exceed this longest reception number for a variety of reasons.

The speedster eclipsed this number easily in the one truly competitive game that Missouri has played this season with a 50-yard catch against Kansas.

He’s back in his home state and has filled a big void left by Luther Burden’s departure nicely so far. I expect something similar in this matchup, given the struggles South Carolina has had against explosive passing plays.

It’s a little shocking for an SEC team with such high preseason praise, but coming into this matchup, the Gamecocks rank in the bottom 4th percentile in pass explosiveness allowed.

Almost 14% of the completed passes against them have been classified as explosive or passes of more than 20 yards.

With a number nearly in that range and Coleman displaying just how dangerous he can be downfield, this is an easy play.

South Carolina vs Missouri same-game parlay

I projected this spread closer to 13, even with healthy Sellers, so I’ll take Missouri to cover.

I’ll also go ahead and grab the Under for reasons noted above, like a fairly slow tempo from both teams.

South Carolina vs Missouri SGP

  • Kevin Coleman longest reception Over 25.5 yards
  • Missouri -10.5
  • Under 48.5

Our deep-ball SGP: Take It To The House

We added Beau Pribula to go over his passing total, a play directly correlated to our best bet above.

He’s exceeded this number in two of his three starts this season, and I expect that to continue here against a defense that struggles against the big play.

Lastly, we finished with Rahsul Faison to find the end zone. I expect him to get an increased amount of volume with Sellers banged up.

South Carolina vs Missouri SGP

  • Kevin Coleman longest reception Over 25.5 yards
  • Missouri -10.5
  • Under 48.5
  • Beau Pribula Over 231.5 passing yards
  • Rahsul Faison anytime TD

South Carolina vs Missouri odds

  • Spread: South Carolina +9.5 (-110) | Missouri -9.5 (-110)
